The 162nd Board of Directors Meeting of the South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) was held on August 27, 2024, in Muğla under the chairmanship of GEKA Board Chairman and Denizli Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun.

The 162nd Board of Directors Meeting of the South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) was held in Muğla under the chairmanship of GEKA Board Chairman and Denizli Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun. The meeting was attended by Aydın Governor Yakup Canpolat, Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, Aydın Chamber of Industry President Gökhan Maraş, Denizli Chamber of Industry President Selim Kasapoğlu, Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Bülent Karakuş, Aydın Chamber of Commerce President Hakan Ülken, GEKA Secretary General Ümit Gülyağı, and agency officials.

Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun first expressed his gratitude to the previous president, Aydın Governor Yakup Canpolat, for his successful tenure as Chairman of the Board over the past year, on the occasion of the transfer of the GEKA Board Chairmanship from the Aydın Governorship to the Denizli Governorship. Governor Coşkun also wished success to Ümit Gülyağı, who was appointed as Secretary General of the Agency as of August 2, hoping that he would initiate successful projects that would be significant for regional development. He conveyed the Board’s thanks to the former Secretary General of the Agency, Özgür Akdoğan, for his valuable work.

During the meeting, the activities carried out since the last meeting were reviewed, and the planned activities for the upcoming period were discussed by the Board of Directors. The meeting included a review of the 6-month interim activity reports for the year 2024, and the Board was informed about the activities planned to be implemented under the 2025 Work Program. Governor Coşkun stated that they closely monitor all processes from the design to the execution and monitoring of the Agency’s support programs, mentioning the projects carried out under the Guided Project, Producing Cities Program, SOGEP, SOGEP Anadolu, Feasibility Support, and Technical Support Programs.

Finally, Governor Coşkun concluded the meeting by thanking the Board Members for their participation and contributions.
