ISTANBUL (IHA) – Before the 3rd International Folk Dance Festival, which will host 17 folk dance groups from 9 countries in Kartal, plaques were presented to the participating groups.

The Kartal Municipality is hosting the 3rd International Folk Dance Festival, which will feature 17 folk dance groups from 9 countries. The festival, which will last for 5 days and will include world-famous folk dance groups, is set to create a grand visual spectacle this year as well.

World-famous dance groups will be at this festival
The festival organized to provide Kartal residents with the opportunity to experience the cultures and dances of different nations and to promote Kartal’s cultural richness on an international level will also witness unforgettable moments this year. A total of 17 world-famous folk dance groups and 550 artists from 9 countries, including Turkey, Georgia, Serbia, Poland, Colombia, Iran, Mexico, Greece, Azerbaijan, and Hungary, will perform at the festival. Plaques were presented to the participants during a program held in the council hall of Kartal Municipality before the festival.

“We are excited for the festival”
Speaking during the plaque presentation, Kartal Mayor Gökhan Yüksel stated, “Kartal is the first district that comes to mind when we talk about folk dance, which has a history full of great successes. Therefore, we are all making an effort to preserve this heritage, this culture. We are very happy and excited to host our guests here with our folk dance committee and colleagues. We will be able to hold beautiful events in Kartal together. While doing this, we will actually see how close culture and folklore are to each other. Prejudices will disappear; the meeting of culture and art is also one of the most special moments when humanity comes together, where countries, names, and titles fade away. We will have the opportunity to see beautiful customs, traditions, and regional folk dances. I would like to thank you all for your participation in this organization.”
