The Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) and President of the Union of Turkish Municipalities, Ekrem İmamoğlu, visited the Mayor of Adıyaman, Abdurrahman Tutdere, at his office.

Accompanying IBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu during the visit to Adıyaman Municipality was CHP Deputy Chairman Gökhan Zeybek. İmamoğlu shook hands and chatted one by one with the municipal employees, and later received information from Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere about the activities of the municipality.

Speaking about the visit, Mayor Tutdere expressed his satisfaction with İmamoğlu and the accompanying delegation’s visit, saying, “Today is a historic day for Adıyaman. We thank you for this meaningful visit you made to Adıyaman Municipality. It is very important for our city that such a valuable delegation visits us and shares our sorrows after our city experienced great devastation on February 6. The news of your arrival alone caused great excitement and enthusiasm in Adıyaman. Our municipal building was destroyed, and we are trying to provide services in two floors allocated to us by our Governorship. Tomorrow, we will also lay the foundation of our service building. We are fighting against the earthquake, we are struggling to heal the wounds. Your support gives us great strength in this struggle.”

Mayor Tutdere emphasized the solidarity shown by metropolitan municipalities after the earthquake, recalling the support given to Adıyaman by many municipalities, particularly the metropolitan municipalities of Mersin and Aydın.

IBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, in his speech, conveyed messages of solidarity and cooperation for the 11 cities affected by the earthquake during his visit to Mayor Tutdere. He stated that they would continue to support the municipalities in the earthquake-affected regions as TBB, saying, “We want them to be strong. Our struggle will continue until we take steps to bring the people of this country to peace and an economic level. We will come again, one of our hands, one of our eyes, one of our ears will always be here. We are here with our hearts.”
