Çorum Governor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zülkif Dağlı emphasized the increase in Çorum’s export figures, stating, “We will achieve greater successes by working hand in hand with our industrialists.”
The August meeting of the Board of Directors and the Entrepreneurial Committee of the Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) was held under the chairmanship of Governor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zülkif Dağlı. In addition to the agenda items, the demands of industrialists were discussed, and the zoning status regarding the 503-decare expansion area in the OSB was evaluated. After the meeting, Governor Dağlı visited some companies in the OSB together with Mayor Dr. Halil İbrahim Aşgın, TSO President Çetin Başaranhıncal, and ÇOSİAD President Bülent Demirci.
Highlighting that Çorum has a better position than surrounding provinces due to its industrial infrastructure, Governor Dağlı said, “It is essential that the vacant plots in our Organized Industrial Zones are filled as soon as possible, encouraged to enter production and accelerate. We are also striving to produce high value-added, export-oriented products and to institutionalize our companies and improve their efficiency. Çorum’s economy is based on industry, agriculture, livestock, and services. Production and export take place in every field from food, textiles, forest products, furniture, paper products, chemicals-plastics, stone and soil-based industry, to machine-metal industrial groups. There are 3 active OSBs in Çorum, and the infrastructure work for the 4th is ongoing. In our city, domestic and national products are produced, especially in the defense industry. There are various government supports and incentives that promote exports in Çorum, facilitating exporters’ access to international markets. We also have significant companies working in the defense industry in the center. We continue our efforts to advance Çorum’s industry.”
Governor Dağlı stated that Çorum’s export performance reflects the city’s economic dynamism and the entrepreneurial spirit of its industrialists, adding that the success achieved by Çorum is due to its strong production capacity, diversity in the industrial sector, and the dedicated efforts of industrialists, thanking all industrialists and businesspeople.
