A first in the field of air guns in Elazığ

The athletes of air weapons, operating under the Elazığ Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, have set out for their first out-of-province competitions.

The athletes, who will participate in the Air / Firearms Youth and Stars Victory Cup World Championship to be held in Erdemli district of Mersin between August 26 and September 1, will later take part in the selections to be held at the Turkey Olympic Preparation Center.

After Yusuf Dikeç, who won a silver medal in the mixed team category of the 10-meter air pistol at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and drew attention with his relaxed demeanor during shooting, the interest in the Air Weapons Shooting Range located at the Living Stadium of the Elazığ Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate has increased.

Training continues at the Air Weapons Range established within Elazığ Atatürk Stadium in 2023, under the guidance of expert coaches. After demonstrating their success in a short time, the athletes from Elazığ will participate in the Air / Firearms Youth and Stars Victory Cup World Championship and TOHM selections for the first time.

In a statement made by the Elazığ Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, it was stated, “As Elazığ province, we are taking steps towards success in Air Weapons as we have achieved many successes. For the first time, we have sent a delegation to the championship to be held in Mersin to represent our city. We have achieved another first as the Elazığ Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate.
