The President of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. Erbaş, thanked Elazığ Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları for supporting the national and spiritual education of children.

Elazığ Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları, together with President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, Presidential Chief Advisor Dr. İsfrafil Kışla, and Elazığ Provincial Mufti İrfan Üstündağ, examined the Quran course that has been initiated by the Elazığ Municipality in the Sürsürü neighborhood and will start serving in the 2024-2025 academic year. Continuing to uphold the principle of real municipal services by effectively and qualitatively reaching citizens, Elazığ Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları is committed both to equipping Elazığ with permanent works and to exemplifying the best practices of social municipal work. In this context, Elazığ Municipality continues to be a supporter of national and spiritual education, as well as religious guidance services for children, who are the guarantee of the future, by completing the three-story Quran course service building for children aged 4-6 in Sürsürü neighborhood. The rough construction of the Quran course has been completed, and the interior finishing works have also been finalized. The Quran course service building is planned to start accepting students and providing services in the 2024-2025 academic year. Additionally, the Quran Course, which has a building footprint of 385 square meters, includes 8 classrooms, a multifunctional hall, staff rooms, mosques, and a dining hall. Furthermore, after the service building starts providing education, it will also offer preschool education services alongside the Quran Course.

Elazığ Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları, along with President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, Presidential Chief Advisor Dr. İsfrafil Kışla, and Elazığ Provincial Mufti İrfan Üstündağ, inspected the completed works at the Quran course, which Elazığ Municipality is preparing to open in the Sürsürü neighborhood, and obtained information from the officials.

The President of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, stated that values education should be taught to children at a young age as a nation and state, expressing his satisfaction with the fact that students will be raised in the Elazığ Municipality Quran course. He also thanked Elazığ Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları for opening the Quran Course as a supporter of children’s national and spiritual education. Mayor Şerifoğulları expressed his pleasure in hosting President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, Presidential Chief Advisor Dr. İsfrafil Kışla, and Elazığ Provincial Mufti İrfan Üstündağ.
