Ministers react to CHP MP Tuncay Özkan

Reactions from ministers followed CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan’s comments regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on social media.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya reacted to the statements made by CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan towards President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In a post on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated: “It is revealing the ugliness within that individual when a parliament member uses expressions that exceed the limits of decency about our President, who has dedicated his life to his country and nation. Our esteemed nation is well aware of the common traits of those who insult our President. While some chase slander, we will continue to work tirelessly to build a Great and Strong Turkey under the leadership of our President. I strongly condemn the parliament member who has made immoral and excessive remarks.”
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu also reacted to CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan’s statements towards President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Uraloğlu said in a post on his social media account: “I strongly condemn the CHP parliament member who has insulted our President, who represents the Republic of Turkey and the unity of the Turkish nation, with expressions that cannot be accepted by any individual of our nation. You have exceeded your limits and boundaries in the filthy pit you are in. Your godfathers could not harm our leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Will you? You coward will not get away with it. The garbage, mud, and pits you fill the streets with have unfortunately also stained your tongues. This mentality, which thinks insulting our President, who has devoted his life to his country and nation, is politics, is doomed to be cursed in the conscience of our nation today as it was yesterday. In defiance of these indecent scoundrels who dirty the language of politics, we will continue to produce works for our nation under the leadership of our President.”
National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin also reacted to CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan’s statements regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Minister Tekin noted in a post on his social media account: “I condemn the use of insulting expressions against our President by a CHP parliament member in social media. Politics should not only serve the establishment of democracy and the rule of law through the behaviors and words of politicians but also as an institution. I believe what the CHP means by normalization is the reconstruction of undemocratic attitudes and the language of insults that marginalizes others, similar to the one-party era. Those who use this language must carefully calculate the damage they will cause to Turkey, democracy, and the rule of law. It should not be forgotten that our President is the President of 85 million, elected by the esteemed nation’s favor and empowered by the people.”
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan reacted to CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan’s statements about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Işıkhan stated in a post on his social media account: “I vehemently condemn the words devoid of morality and dignity directed at our President by a CHP parliament member whose past is filled with dark traces, sharing the same ugly language as the so-called Minister of the massacre-prone Israel, whom we do not even want to name. It is clear as day who stands in the same line with whom. On one side, our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is a man of the nation, fighting tirelessly for his country, on the other side, the remnants of a mentality opposed to strengthening Turkey and benefiting this country.”
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır reacted to CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan’s statements regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Kacır noted in a post on his social media account: “The level that carrying the mandate of the nation should bring, is certainly not to insult our President by a parliament member devoid of decency and morality. This immorality cannot tarnish the reputation of our President, our state, and our nation. However, it shows the baseness of the one who committed this indecency. The truth that drives these indecent people and their likes crazy is this: Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the first President of Turkey elected by direct popular vote. And the Man of the Nation, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has won every election he has entered. He has been the President of the Republic of Turkey since 2014. He is the Commander-in-Chief of the Turkish Armed Forces. The AK Party he founded has been in uninterrupted power for 22 years since 2002. In this country, the word and the decision belong to the nation.”
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş reacted to CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan’s statements regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Göktaş stated in a post on her social media account: “The statements made about a leader elected by the votes of the nation, like Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has reiterated this favor in every election, are utterly incompatible with being a representative of the nation. Trade Minister Ömer Bolat reacted to CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan’s statements regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Bolat noted in a statement on his social media account: “The declarations containing insults and slanders against our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by a CHP parliament member on social media are a clear indication of how far this group has strayed from not only political courtesy but also moral values. Such ugly and dishonorable attacks do not only target our President but also reveal a disrespect towards the will of our nation and the highest office of our state. The account of these accusations will certainly be demanded before the law.”
Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum reacted to CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan’s statements regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Kurum stated in a post on his social media account: “The unfounded statements made by low-level individuals who extend their tongues towards our President, the leader of this country, are beneath our feet. I condemn this dirty political understanding that tries to transpose party internal conflicts into the political arena and allegedly targets our President.”
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı reacted to CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan’s statements regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Altun noted in a post on his social media account: “Those who use ugly expressions towards our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has a junta mentality and remnants of tutelage, like Tuncay Özkan, should know this very well! Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is never alone. It is our duty to always stand by our President, both as the head of our state and as the leader of our cause, and to protect his rights! Every form of insult and evil directed towards our President will be paid back, both legally and politically. I condemn this immoral approach and return the ugly remarks of this remnant of tutelage to him exactly as they are.”
