The 26th International Eşme Touristic Kilim Culture and Art Festival, hosted by Eşme Municipality, has commenced with great participation and enthusiasm.
At the opening of the festival, a parade featuring the Turkish flag and the flag of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk marched with the accompaniment of a marching band. The colorful and lively parade was attended by Eşme Mayor Yılmaz Tozan, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, Eşme District Governor Mustafa Görmüş, former President of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and former Member of Parliament Durmuş Yılmaz, Uşak Member of Parliament Ali Karaoba, Republican People’s Party Uşak Provincial Chair Sevinç Yazgan, mayors from surrounding provinces and districts, as well as jugglers, stilt walkers, an animation team, local and foreign folk dance groups, a drum-zurna musicians team, Horseback Javelin Club, hunters and shooters club, İzmir Classic Car Association, and thousands of citizens.
In his opening speech, Mayor Tozan welcomed all citizens participating in the protocol and festival, emphasizing the significance and importance of the festival on culture and art. He concluded his remarks by expressing his great excitement and happiness, inviting Mansur Yavaş to the podium. Mayor Yavaş stated that festivals are not just about laughing and having fun, but they strengthen the bonds of unity and solidarity. He highlighted Eşme’s role in the Sakarya Battle and concluded his speech by thanking everyone for the beautiful invitation.
In the evening, after various activities in the festival area, Melek Mosso took the stage and made a significant impact with her original songs and style. At the end of the concert, Eşme Mayor Yılmaz Tozan presented gifts to Melek Mosso, thanking her for her participation. These colorful and impressive performances at the festival provided participants with an unforgettable night, and the festival will continue until August 25.
