Selçuk will celebrate the Great Victory to the fullest.

Selçuk Municipality will celebrate August 30 Victory Day with a series of events organized in various fields from sports to culture and arts. The events, which will start on August 26 and continue intermittently until September 4, will envelop Selçuk in the enthusiasm of victory.

On Monday, August 26, which marks the beginning of the Great Offensive, Selçuk residents will witness the silhouette of Atatürk reflected on the Liberation Road Monument, one of the most important works of sculptor Mehmet Aksoy, at 12:00 PM. On the same evening at 21:00, they will watch the theater performance titled ‘Women of Liberation’ at the Amphitheater. The play will be open to art enthusiasts aged 15 and over.

The Victory Tournament will bring together the athletes of the city.

In the celebrations of August 30 Victory Day, the children of Selçuk will compete in the Victory Tournament. The Victory Tournament in the Beach Volleyball category will be held at Pamucak Social Facilities on Tuesday, August 27, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, where the combination of sea and sand will add excitement to the sports events. On Wednesday, August 28, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, a basketball tournament will be held at Eftal Doğru Sports Facilities. Additionally, on August 31 at 15:00, a Bridge Tournament will be organized at Carpouza Cafe.

“The Night Awakened to Victory”

On Thursday, August 29, at 21:00, an event titled “The Night Awakened to Victory” will be held in front of the Atatürk Monument. Organized jointly by Selçuk Municipality and the Atatürkist Thought Association, the event will feature front-line folk songs, poetry, and zeybek dance performances before the August 30 Victory.

The events organized as part of the August 30 Victory Day celebrations will begin with an official ceremony in front of the Atatürk Monument in the morning. The events organized by Selçuk Municipality will commence on the evening of August 30 with a Torch Parade starting from the Atatürk Monument at 20:15. After the Torch Parade, which will illuminate the streets of Selçuk, popular singer Emre Fel will perform at the Market Place at 21:30. People of all ages will continue to have fun throughout the night with the beautiful songs of the famous artist Emre Fel.

Songs of Peace will echo

On September 1, World Peace Day, the concert “Songs of Peace from Both Sides” of Rebetiko will resonate in Selçuk. The concert will bring peace melodies to the audience at the Amphitheater at 21:00 on September 1, World Peace Day.

The movie “Atatürk” will meet the audience

As part of the Victory Week events that bring together culture, art, and sports, the movie Atatürk will meet with the people of Selçuk during the Summer Cinema Night on September 3-4. The screenings of Atatürk 1 (September 3) and Atatürk 2 (September 4) will take place at 21:00 in the Station Square.
