Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç attended the Turkey premiere of the documentary titled “Shifa Hospital: 14 Days of Horror.” Minister Tunç stated, “Unfortunately, a criminal case could not be opened against Israel at the International Criminal Court. A suspect for whom the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court requested an arrest warrant was applauded in the United States Congress as a genocide criminal.”
A promotional program for the documentary “Shifa Hospital: 14 Days of Horror,” which addresses the bombing of Shifa Hospital in Gaza by Israel, was held. “A humanitarian tragedy has been occurring in Palestine since October 7”
Minister Tunç spoke about the massacre ongoing in Palestine since October 7, stating, “Unfortunately, a humanitarian tragedy has been unfolding in Palestine since October 7. A crime against humanity is being committed. A genocide is being committed. In fact, saying since October 7 is an understatement. For a century, there has been oppression in Palestine. During this process, the need to maintain the integrity of Jerusalem, to comply with international law, and to adhere to the decisions made by the United Nations bodies is evident, yet there is a state that does not comply with any of these decisions. We are faced with an Israel that does not recognize international law and does not adhere to the decisions of international organizations. Since October 7, a genocide has been taking place. Over 40,000 people, Palestinians, have been martyred. 80% of this is comprised of women and children. In front of the eyes of the world, women and children are being slaughtered. All elements of the United Nations genocide convention have been violated one by one. This massacre continues to take place in front of the eyes of the world. The conscience of humanity has overflowed into the streets. Demonstrations and rallies in support of Palestine are being held on campuses of universities in Europe and America. We are witnessing demonstrations condemning the Israeli aggressors and occupiers. Unfortunately, we also sadly see how ineffective the organizations representing the international system and international law have become,” he expressed.
“The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court requested an arrest warrant, but the court did not make a decision regarding this warrant”
Minister Tunç expressed that no criminal case had been opened against Israel by the International Criminal Court, saying, “Unfortunately, a criminal case against Israel could not be opened at the International Criminal Court. The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court requested an arrest warrant, but unfortunately, the relevant chamber of the criminal court did not make a decision regarding this warrant. A suspect for whom the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court requested an arrest warrant was applauded in the United States Congress as a genocide criminal. Those who applauded that genocide criminal, that crime against humanity, that murderer of women and children are recorded in the history of humanity as a dark stain. They openly declare that they are complicit in this crime. Since October 7, we have all seen how the US has supported that massacre of children by sending weapons and ships.”
