Candidates showed great interest in the Turkey-Azerbaijan University, established as a new university model in collaboration with the Council of Higher Education and the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan.
The results of student admissions to Turkey-Azerbaijan University have been announced. In the first year, 30 students each will study in the Computer Engineering and Industrial Engineering departments, and 27 students will study in the Food Engineering department, totaling 87 students in higher education. In Azerbaijan, where the highest score in the higher education entrance exams is 700, Turkey-Azerbaijan University admitted students with the highest scores of 684.9 for Computer Engineering, 663.7 for Industrial Engineering, and 632.8 for Food Engineering. The results of student admissions to Turkey-Azerbaijan University, opened in Baku under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, have been announced. In the first year, 30 students each will study in the Computer Engineering and Industrial Engineering departments, and 27 in the Food Engineering department, totaling 87 students in higher education. The university will begin its educational activities in the 2024-2025 academic year.
In Azerbaijan, where the maximum score in the higher education entrance exams is 700, the highest score for admission to the Computer Engineering department of Turkey-Azerbaijan University was 684.9, while the lowest score was 641.6. The Industrial Engineering department accepted students with a highest score of 663.7 and a lowest score of 544.4. In the Food Engineering department, the highest score was 632.8, while the base score for this department was 452.1.
Turkey-Azerbaijan University will serve as a “umbrella university” that will host programs from leading universities in Turkey. Instead of opening programs for the first time, the university will carry the programs of universities that have already proven themselves in this field.
In this context, the educational programs of Middle East Technical University (METU) will be based for Computer Engineering, Istanbul Technical University (ITU) for Industrial Engineering, and Hacettepe University for Food Engineering in the 2024-2025 academic year at Turkey-Azerbaijan University.
Students who successfully complete these programs under the roof of Turkey-Azerbaijan University will hold diplomas from the relevant universities.
A memorandum of understanding regarding the establishment of Turkey-Azerbaijan University, which will take the scientific and technological cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan to a new level, was signed on February 19, 2024, in Ankara, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, between the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan and the Council of Higher Education. The agreement was signed by Erol Özvar, the President of the Council of Higher Education, and Emin Amrullayev, the Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan.
