The İhlas Vocational Development Program (İMGEP), organized by İhlas College, has come to an end.
During the five-day İMGEP, which saw participation from all campuses affiliated with İhlas College, expert speakers delivered conferences and workshops were conducted to prepare for the new term.
Anooshirvan Miandji, one of the speakers on the last day of İMGEP, gave two conferences on “Artificial Intelligence” and “Critical Thinking.”
Miandji provided information about the stages of development of artificial intelligence up to the present day and shared extensive information about its applications.
Emphasizing that the biggest difference between artificial intelligence and humans is emotion, Miandji stated, “Artificial intelligence thinks algorithmically. It is based on yes-no. The answer to the question must be yes or no according to the machine. But the uncertainty in the answer ‘We will see’ that comes from the human brain cannot be understood by the machine.”
Highlighting that artificial intelligence mimics human thinking ability, Miandji said, “What does it mimic? It mimics what we solve. In other words, we teach it what we have solved; we cannot teach it what we have not solved. Since we cannot understand emotions, the machine does not understand them either.”
Stating that the question of whether artificial intelligence is ethical is the wrong question, Miandji emphasized that the real question is whether humans are ethical. He highlighted that discussing whether artificial intelligence is ethical is absurd.
After a break, Miandji continued with his presentation on “Critical Thinking,” after which he was presented with a certificate for a tree sapling planted in his name as a memento of the day by Erdinç Aydoğan, the Educational Technologies Coordinator at İhlas College.
In the final section of İMGEP, Öner Ziya Baş presented on “Information Reliability Awareness Training,” while Serhan Kal delivered a presentation titled “STEM Approach in Education.”
Okur: “We will see a changing and developing İhlas College in the new term.”
Evaluating the İMGEP, which lasted five days and involved the educational staff of İhlas College, the General Manager of İhlas College, Hakkı Okur, stated that they have signed a beneficial program with valuable speakers.
Expressing their belief in change and development, Okur said, “I believe we have gained different perspectives for self-improvement in education through the conferences given by our expert speakers. We will use the knowledge and experiences we gained here to better educate our students in our classrooms. For this purpose, we want our teachers to constantly update themselves and be open to change. This was also our goal for the program.”
Okur stated that they have prepared very differently for the new term as İhlas College, explaining that they have improved the physical and technological infrastructure of their schools with the investments made. Stressing that they have taken steps to advance İhlas College since the moment they took office and set goals, Okur said, “We have started a vigorous work in our schools. With the contributions of İhlas Holding at the points we identified, we have made our investments. My entire team and I have rolled up our sleeves and started working to serve the İhlas College family in the best way possible.”
Emphasizing that İhlas College will provide education with a renewed understanding in the new term, Okur lastly wished that the new academic year would be beneficial for the entire educational community.
