In the Ahlat district of Bitlis, a “Torchlight Parade” was organized with a 150-meter long Turkish flag as part of the events commemorating the 953rd anniversary of the Malazgirt Victory.
Citizens gathered in front of the Ahlat Public Education Center and marched with the unfurled Turkish flag and torches to the front of the Great Mosque. In a speech made here, Haydar Ali Yıldız, the President of the Archers Foundation, stated that they conducted a walk worthy of Ahlat, and mentioned that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would be addressing important messages from Ahlat on Sunday.
Yıldız said, “Our President will announce to the world from here that we are the voice of Gaza and Palestine from Ahlat. As one nation, one homeland, one flag, and one state, we are together Seljuks, we are Ottomans, we are the Republic of Turkey. Together with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we will build the Century of Turkey. Ahlat will provide a stronger support to the Century of Turkey than anyone else. Our conquest of Anatolia, our glorious victory of 1071 Malazgirt, may it be blessed. May the souls of our martyrs rest in peace.”
Later, AK Party Bitlis Provincial Chairman Kadir Köstekçi stated, “Today, the pinnacle of the state is coming together again in Ahlat. Therefore, I invite all of Ahlat and Bitlis to the square on Sunday at 16:00. This year, alongside our flag, there is the Palestinian flag. Greetings to Gaza, from the Dome of Islam to the Dome of the Rock, to East Turkistan. Therefore, I invite all of Ahlat to the square on Sunday to show our unity and solidarity to the whole world, to send a serious message from here to the world, and to give a response to the murderous Israel.”
Ahlat Mayor Yavuz Gülmez thanked everyone who participated in the walk and invited all citizens to the national garden in Ahlat to welcome President Erdoğan and the state officials.
