The Mustafa Nevzat Hamurkar Meeting Hall has been opened at KTO.

The meeting room named after former president Mustafa Nevzat Hamurkar was opened at the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce (KTO).

Speaking at the opening ceremony held at KTO, Board Chairman Ömer Gülsoy stated, “We continue our efforts to remember and not forget our former presidents who contributed significantly to the development of our city.

Because we believe that ‘merit deserves praise’ and to show our loyalty to our commitments, we decided to rename this meeting room to ‘Mustafa Nevzat Özhamurkar Meeting Room’ by the decision of our Board of Directors. Our esteemed elder and also a member of the High Advisory Board, Mustafa Nevzat Özhamurkar, is a very valuable name for us. He served as the Chairman of our Board of Directors from 1983 to 1992, was a member and vice president of the TOBB Board of Directors, played a significant role in acquiring the land for our current service building, held many other positions as president and board member in several institutions, and most recently served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Nuh Naci Yazgan University. My relation with Mustafa Nevzat Özhamurkar is particularly special. He is a valuable elder whom I consult for advice and enjoy conversing with. I express this by giving examples in meetings I hold from time to time. May God grant him a healthy and long life. We have inscribed his wise sayings such as ‘If you don’t spoil your partnership, your business won’t spoil,’ ‘If you are straight like an arrow, you will reach the target. If you are crooked like a bow, you will be left empty-handed,’ and ‘A dignified loss is better than a shameful gain’ on the walls of this meeting room to serve as examples and guidance for everyone. As the management of Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, we will always keep the names of our former presidents alive. We are also entrusted with this responsibility. Working in non-governmental organizations requires a different position than working in your own business. Sometimes, you forget your family and business. You strive to solve other people’s problems as if they are your own, not just your own troubles.” Mustafa Nevzat Hamurkar, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to those who made the decision, saying, “Having my name given to this room has been an honor. I hope that fruitful meetings for the homeland and the nation will take place here.”

After the speeches, the meeting room was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
