Traffic training for public transportation drivers from the metropolitan municipality.

In Antalya, the Metropolitan Municipality provided “Traffic Safety and Safe Driving” training to drivers working in the city’s public transportation network.

The Transportation Department of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality continues its training efforts to enhance the quality and comfort of travel services in public transportation. A training session focusing on safe driving, speed, and traffic rules was organized for newly recruited drivers in public transport.

General Traffic Rules

The training, conducted in cooperation with the Antalya Police Department, was delivered by Traffic Instructor Erdinç Akban from the Traffic Inspection Branch Directorate at the Transportation Department of the Metropolitan Municipality. During the training, bus drivers were thoroughly informed about general traffic rules, speed regulations and limits, right of way, passing rules, primary faults in traffic, and rules to be observed regarding public transport. Erdinç Akban stated, “Since you will be serving on behalf of the public, citizens will expect a safe journey from you. You must pay attention to issues such as picking up and dropping off passengers outside stops, using mobile phones while driving, and wearing seat belts, as these matters are very important to ensure traffic safety.” The training program concluded with a question-and-answer session.

The Aim is Citizen Safety and Satisfaction

Metin Uslu, the Vehicle Operations Officer of the Transportation Department of the Metropolitan Municipality, noted that in-service training for drivers is conducted regularly, stating, “We carefully evaluate the complaints and suggestions from our citizens regarding our drivers in public transport vehicles and work to provide better service to our passengers. We organized this training in cooperation with Antalya Police Department for our newly recruited personnel to ensure that citizens can travel safely and to enhance their satisfaction.” Aliye Gumcu, the Training Organization Officer of the Public Transport Branch Directorate, also mentioned, “The safety of citizens is our top priority; we care about delivering them to their loved ones; in short, we carry love.”
