Third place in Turkey for electric vehicles race in Muğla

The MUTEG EA Team of Muğla Şehit Ziya İlhan Dağdaş Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School achieved significant success at the Teknofest Aviation, Space and Technology Festival. The team made Muğla proud by becoming the third in Turkey in the Inter-High School Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Race.

Teknofest was held between August 12-17, 2024, at the Turkey Scientific and Technical Research Institution Campus in Gebze, Kocaeli. A total of 631 teams applied for this year’s competition. The MUTEG EA Team from Muğla Şehit Ziya İlhan Dağdaş Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, which successfully made it among the 14 teams that passed the technical checks, achieved the third place in Turkey in the Domestic Product and Performance Categories after a great struggle. The MUTEG EA Team consisted of students Mesut İnanç, Ali Öztürk, Ege Alp Mamus, Mehmet Kaan Şallı, Muhammed Eren Akın, Kıvanç Özenen, Emin Kuruoğlu, and Serdar Karamercan, under the leadership of teachers Ali Uzun and Taner Akkoyunlu.

Project advisor teacher Ali Uzun stated, “This year, we are participating in the TEKNOFEST electric vehicle races for the 4th time. Of course, this places us among a select few schools, as we go there with 20 teams, and we deserve to compete on the racetrack by passing the eliminations. We are achieving great success after going through a challenging process, and having this be the 4th time is a separate achievement. This year, we reflected our experiences from the previous 3 competitions in the field. Therefore, we have won 3 awards at once, and we are currently experiencing the joy of this success.”
