The exhibition “Mercan Dede: You Were Born with Potential” will be held at AKS on August 24.

Antalya Culture Art (AKS) is hosting the exhibition “Mercan Dede: You Were Born with Potentials.”

The Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) Education Research and Culture Foundation has brought Antalya Culture Art (AKS) to life, opening its doors to the exhibition “Mercan Dede: You Were Born with Potentials.” The exhibition, which consists of a selection from the artist’s 30 years of artistic work that combines the understanding of Sufism with contemporary art practices, will meet art lovers on Saturday, August 24, at AKS, curated by Ecem Eroğlu İnan. ATSO Board Chairman Yusuf Hacısüleyman expressed that Antalya Culture Art is an institution that significantly contributes to the artistic and cultural identity of the city, stating, “We are happy to host the works of our internationally renowned artist Mercan Dede. We invite all of our city to the exhibition, which we will present to our art-loving people of Antalya.”

The selected works for the exhibition aim to remind the audience that everything in the universe, especially humans, has a reason for existence and countless potentials. Hacısüleyman stated that the exhibition conveys a deep message about the inner world of humans and their limitless potential, saying, “We are once again proving that Antalya is a strong center not only in tourism but also in art and culture with such events. The exhibition will inspire both our local people and our visitors.”

Open to visitors until October 20

The artist pursues not what is, but what should be; not what is seen, but what is kept hidden; not what is endured, but what is desired; not what is accepted, but the moments that remain unfulfilled within us, inviting us to think more about ourselves until we find what is most suitable for us, thus discovering our potential. The exhibition “Mercan Dede: You Were Born with Potentials,” prepared with a comprehensive selection of the artist’s original works, will be open to visitors every day except Mondays until October 20.
