Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir, who visited the NOSAB management, stated that they want to plan the future of Nilüfer with common sense, saying, “We will manage Nilüfer together with common sense, which includes many structures such as industrialists, farmers, politicians, chambers, professional organizations, neighborhood committees, and women’s associations.”

Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir met with the Chairman of the Board of the Nilüfer Industrialists and Businessmen Association (NİLSİAD) Yalçın Aras, the Chairman of the Board of the Nilüfer Organized Industrial Zone (NOSAB) Erol Gülmez, and board members. The meeting at the NOSAB Service Building was also attended by Nilüfer Deputy Mayors Mahmut Demiröz, Serpil Altun, and Okan Şahin.

During the visit, Mayor Şadi Özdemir emphasized that NOSAB is a valuable area for the city and mentioned that there is an exemplary institutional structure here. He also noted that environmentally friendly and significant infrastructure works are being carried out, stating that he closely follows the region.

Recalling that they have emphasized common sense since they took office, Mayor Şadi Özdemir said they are striving to form a broadly participatory structure regarding what kind of Nilüfer should be. Expressing that Nilüfer is the 8th most valuable district in Turkey, Mayor Şadi Özdemir said, “Our goal is to bring Nilüfer to the top. We will manage Nilüfer together with common sense, which includes many structures such as industrialists, farmers, politicians, chambers, professional organizations, neighborhood committees, and women’s associations. We have also changed our slogan. Our new slogan is ‘Everyone’s Voice, Our Nilüfer’. Starting from here, we are working to make decisions with common sense, and we want a Nilüfer that everyone embraces. Let’s talk, let’s have a common sense for all of us. Let’s create the Nilüfer of 50-100 years from now together.”

Reminding that Nilüfer is a district with a population of 550,000, Mayor Şadi Özdemir emphasized that they progress with an approach that considers everyone’s rights. He stated that they value the city’s assets and are against unfair competition, mentioning their determined struggle against illegal structures built on agricultural lands. Mayor Şadi Özdemir emphasized that their statements regarding agricultural areas are clear, saying, “Our sensitivity regarding agricultural areas is high. We clearly state that we will develop agriculture. When we detect illegal structures in agricultural areas, we demolish them immediately.”

Erol Gülmez, Chairman of the NOSAB Board, also congratulated Mayor Şadi Özdemir for his success in the local elections. Expressing that they are disturbed by illegal constructions as industrialists, Gülmez stated that they do not find it appropriate for agricultural lands to be converted to industrial use. He pointed out that these structures cause unfair competition and also harm the environment. Gülmez stated that they closely follow the works of Nilüfer Municipality, conveying that they can cooperate in many areas, especially regarding stray animals and kindergartens.

Yalçın Aras, Chairman of the NİLSİAD Board, stated that illegal construction is a problem for Turkey, noting that planning can prevent this. He also reminded that they conduct social projects as a region and added that they want to contribute to future collaborations.
