MSK has started preparations for the new season.

Mersin Sports Club (MSK), which successfully rose to the Turkish Basketball Super League after a successful season, has begun preparations for the new season. The Mersin representative, which held its first training session at the Servet Tazegül Sports Hall, will continue its work in line with the established preparation program.

As one of the new teams in the Turkish Basketball Super League (MSK), they continue to strengthen the team through transfer activities while starting their preparations for the 2024/2025 season.

MSK Club President Berkay Üstündağ stated that their vision and expectations for the new season are high, and therefore, they need to work hard. He noted that they conducted the first training of the new season at the Servet Tazegül Sports Hall and mentioned that one or two more players will be joining the team. Üstündağ emphasized their goal to finish the league in the upper ranks and qualify for the playoffs, expressing that they want to see Mersin basketball fans by their side in this struggle.

Sevim: “We have a new test ahead of us”

Head coach Can Sevim emphasized their pride in being in the Super League, saying, “We successfully fulfilled our duty last year. Now we have a new test ahead of us. We want to prepare for it in the best way possible. We have started training, and I believe we will be largely ready for the season at the camp we will attend.” Sevim indicated that the Super League will be much tougher, stating, “We want to reach the highest point we can in the league and, alongside that, earn the right to participate in European cups. It will definitely be a much tougher battle. But we have the strength to achieve this.” Sevim also called on the people of Mersin, saying, “Last year, especially in the playoffs, there was a magnificent support from the audience. Now we expect them to fill this hall. The more they support us here, the better we can take them to good places.”

Simmons: “We have very important goals this year too”

Gerel Simmons, one of the players expressing excitement for the new season, said, “We are very happy to have taken the team to the upper league with a goal. It was very important to achieve this with the team. This year we also have very important goals.” Simmons sought support from the people of Mersin, noting that they expect sports enthusiasts to support them.

Akdamar: “Our driving force will be our fans”

Tevfik Akdamar, one of MSK’s new transfers, emphasized his excitement for the Super League, stating that they want to make the team capable of playing in the European Cup. Akdamar said, “Our driving force will always be our fans. The fuller the hall and the stronger the cheers, the stronger we will feel on the court. Therefore, we invite the people of Mersin to every match.”

Tanışan: “We want to have a successful season”

Emre Tanışan, one of the new players joining the team, pointed out that the team achieved better success last year, stating, “We want to have a successful season this year as well. The support of our fans is very important for us in this struggle. I hope they feel the same way and come here. Together we can fight and have a beautiful season.”
