Koçarlı Municipality has started selling public bread.

In the Koçarlı district of Aydın, the new public bread sales project initiated by Mayor Özgür Arıcı has been met with great satisfaction by the citizens.

On his first days in office, Mayor Arıcı closed the old public bakery that posed a health threat to the Koçarlı people and operated under unsuitable conditions, fulfilling his promise for the public to access bread in more hygienic and economical conditions.

By collaborating with local bakeries operating in the district, Mayor Arıcı began to deliver freshly baked bread produced under hygienic conditions directly to the people of Koçarlı. With this service, not only is the public ensured to consume healthy and affordable bread, but it is also aimed to contribute to the local economy by producing bread in Koçarlı.

“We kept our promise to the people of Koçarlı” Mayor Özgür Arıcı stated regarding the new bread sales project, “In our first days in office, we took decisive steps to eliminate elements that threaten the health of our citizens. When we saw that our public bakery was not suitable for hygienic conditions, we immediately decided to close it. However, we have made a new arrangement to allow our citizens to access bread in healthier and more economical conditions. Now, by collaborating with our local bakeries, we are providing the people of Koçarlı with hygienic, fresh, and affordable bread. The money of Koçarlı stays in Koçarlı, and our local economy is strengthened.”

Currently, they are only providing services with a mobile sales vehicle, but Mayor Arıcı also expressed that they plan to create different sales points throughout the district as demand increases in the future, stating, “Our citizens can now easily access hygienic and affordable bread, especially in our rural neighborhoods. Our mobile bread sales vehicle brings bread to our people every day in different neighborhoods. It travels from neighborhood to neighborhood, especially meeting the bread needs of elderly and disabled citizens.”

The citizens of Koçarlı appreciated this initiative of the municipality, stating that the implementation is very beneficial both health-wise and economically, and thanked Mayor Arıcı and his team. Citizens also emphasized the importance of hygiene, requesting that this project continues and that bread sales be further expanded.
