A protocol was signed between the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and the Yunus Emre Institute (YEE). With this protocol, cooperation was established between the two institutions in the areas of Turkish exams measuring four basic language skills and the Turkey International Student Admission Exam (TR-YÖS).
According to a statement from ÖSYM, a protocol was signed between ÖSYM and the Yunus Emre Institute to collaborate in the areas of Turkish exams measuring four basic language skills and the Turkey International Student Admission Exam (TR-YÖS). The signing ceremony at the ÖSYM Presidency was attended by ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy and Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Aliy.
“The number of foreign students wishing to study in Turkey is increasing every year”
Providing information about the protocol, ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy stated, “The Yunus Emre Institute is an institution dedicated to promoting our country, Turkish culture, and our mother tongue Turkish around the world and increasing interest in our country. With the efforts of the Yunus Emre Institute, the number of foreign students wishing to study in Turkey is increasing every year. As ÖSYM, we have re-implemented the TR-YÖS exam, which foreign students use to gain points for placement in universities, in 2023, aiming to provide an equal, fair, and transparent measurement process. In 2024, we conducted the TR-YÖS 1 in 32 countries, including the TRNC. We anticipate that the number of countries will increase significantly in the TR-YÖS 2, which we will implement on October 27. Additionally, our development work for the Turkish exam for international students based on four skills, which will start in 2025, is ongoing. Therefore, it is evident that the areas of influence and work of two institutions that have adopted the principle of conducting qualified work on behalf of our country intersect. The increase in the number and quality of studies on our ancient language Turkish is of great importance for the accurate representation of our country in the international arena. In this context, a protocol has been signed with the Yunus Emre Institute to ensure the sharing of experience and knowledge between institutions and to provide mutual support in the training of institutional personnel,” he said.
Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Aliy also expressed his pleasure in signing the protocol with ÖSYM, saying, “I would like to thank you, our esteemed president, and all our friends who contributed to this protocol. We are signing a cooperation protocol with this institution, which undertakes worldwide projects and is among the most important organizations in the world. We are here to bring the two institutions closer together. I thank you again. We will continue our cooperation in different areas as well.”
