According to the 2024 YKS preference results at BEUN, there has been a record increase in the rankings of 31 undergraduate and 70 associate degree programs.

Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University achieved a remarkable success according to the 2024 YKS preference results.

Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) showed a significant leap in student success rankings, with 31 out of 44 undergraduate programs and 70 out of 72 associate degree programs preferred by students compared to the previous year. Notably, the Department of History in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which ranked first, showed a difference of 228,278 in student success rankings compared to last year. The Department of Maritime Business Management in the Faculty of Maritime, which came in second, rose by 163,137 ranks. The Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, ranking third, recorded an increase of 149,582 ranks.

In addition to the visible successes of undergraduate programs, associate degree programs also recorded striking increases. The Office Management and Executive Assistant Program of Çaycuma Vocational School, ranking first in the success ranking, achieved a significant rise with a difference of 409,832 in student success rankings. The Civil Aviation Transportation Management Program of Çaycuma Vocational School, in second place, provided a difference of 371,776 in student success rankings. In third place, the Elderly Care Program of Ahmet Erdoğan Vocational School recorded a difference of 343,926 in student success rankings.

The significant rise in both undergraduate and associate degree programs according to the 2024 YKS preference results clearly indicates an increased interest of students in BEUN’s departments and programs. Furthermore, the visible increase in departments and programs other than the Department of History and the Office Management and Executive Assistant Program compared to the previous year reveals BEUN’s successful implementation of quality education strategies, the career opportunities offered to its graduates, and its rise in academic education and teaching.

BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer expressed his thoughts regarding the remarkable success shown in student rankings after the YKS preferences, saying:

“The significant increase we achieved in student success rankings after the 2024 YKS, due to students choosing BEUN, the first and model university of our Republic, demonstrates the vision and mission of our university within the national community. This great rise should not be seen merely as a numerical value. The momentum we have gained in both undergraduate and associate degree fields is a result of our university being a rooted institution, having a preferred education system in its region and country, as well as its strong vision and strategic planning in higher education. We are also committed to supporting our academic staff’s qualified work in their respective fields, as well as with our infrastructure investments and student-centered approach, continuing to strive to connect more students with high-standard academic education.
