Battalgazi Mayor Bayram Taşkın visited the tradespeople who were relocated from Kışla Street to the National Garden and inspected the landscaping works on-site. Taşkın stated that they aim to complete the landscaping works he had promised to the tradespeople in a short time.

Battalgazi Municipality is receiving praise for the initiatives it has started to solve the problems faced by tradespeople in the container market at the National Garden. The paving works initiated last week based on the promise made by Mayor Bayram Taşkın have put a smile on the faces of the tradespeople. As part of the work initiated to eliminate dust and mud from the earth surface, paving stones and curbs will be laid over an area of 4,150 square meters. This aims to provide a more comfortable and clean environment for the tradespeople and citizens shopping. In addition to the work done by Battalgazi Municipality, Mayor Taşkın is also holding meetings to quickly complete the lighting and infrastructure deficiencies, stating that necessary works will be carried out to ensure tradespeople can conduct their business in a more comfortable and safe environment.

“Kanalboyu will be closed to traffic”

Battalgazi Mayor Bayram Taşkın visited the tradespeople who were relocated from Kışla Street to the National Garden and Kanalboyu. In his statement, Mayor Taşkın emphasized that they quickly took action by considering the demands of the tradespeople, stating, “Our tradespeople are the lifeblood of our district’s commercial life. We never hesitated to take the necessary steps to enable them to provide services in better conditions. We are fulfilling the promises we made one by one. With the landscaping works, we are enabling our tradespeople and citizens to shop in a more comfortable environment. We have also conducted inspections in the container area at Kanalboyu. That area will soon be closed to traffic. Containers will be added to the missing spots. Once that area is closed to traffic, our tradespeople will be able to sell more comfortably. Our citizens will also be able to shop more easily. Our entire effort is to ensure that trade, which was disrupted after the earthquake, continues in an orderly and comfortable way. In line with this effort, we are trying to fulfill the promises we made. When we visited our tradespeople in the container market at the National Garden last week, we promised them: We said we would lay paving stones on the earth surface between the container shops. That area is currently covered in dust and would turn to mud when it rains, causing great difficulties for our tradespeople. We immediately started the works. Our staff has been laying paving stones at the National Garden for four days. We will eliminate this problem in a very short time. Additionally, we have discussed with the relevant institutions for lighting and infrastructure works; these deficiencies will also be completed shortly. It is our common desire for our tradespeople to be able to shop more comfortably. Our goal and effort is to get our city back on its feet. Our tradespeople should be assured; we will continue to be at their service.”

The tradespeople who relocated to the National Garden expressed their satisfaction with the works carried out and conveyed their thanks to Mayor Bayram Taşkın. They noted that since they moved to the National Garden, the earth surface in front of their container shops had become impassable due to dust and mud, stating that the initiated paving work has provided great relief for them. They particularly expressed concern about facing mud issues in the upcoming winter season and emphasized that this work would facilitate their operations, as well as the regularization of vehicle access, which provides a significant advantage in loading and unloading goods.
