In addition, we are paving the way for women to become successful entrepreneurs through 12 women cooperatives in our city.”

Stating that they are in Mardin to consult on the works they carry out and to visit affiliated organizations, Minister Göktaş said that they continue to work tirelessly and continuously, as they have for the past 23 years, under the leadership of the President to make the country strong and pioneering in every field.
Emphasizing that they strive to meet the demands and needs of citizens in line with the principle “Live the person, so the state lives”, Minister Göktaş continued:
“In line with our vision for the Century of Turkey, we will leave a strong Turkey for our children. As a ministry, we aim for the services we provide to primarily contribute to social peace and prosperity. In this context, we continue our efforts to further empower women in social, political, and economic fields, especially in employment. We are making every effort to leave a beautiful future and happy tomorrows for our children and youth. Through our social service centers located in our cities, we serve women, children, the elderly, and the disabled. In this context, just like in all 81 provinces, we have signed many projects and implemented many services in Mardin to respond to the needs of our citizens. Currently, we are supporting the citizens of Mardin with our 5 Social Service Centers located in our city.”
Minister Göktaş reported that thousands of people have benefited from the program, saying, “With our ‘Family Social Support Program’, we rush to the aid of our citizens at the moment they need it. Since 2017, this program has reached 150,000 households. 30,000 people have benefited from our ‘Family Education Program’, which we have prepared to help our young people start their own families since 2013. Additionally, we are paving the way for women to become successful entrepreneurs through 12 women cooperatives in our city. Since 2018, we have supported 539 women with the ‘Financial Literacy and Women’s Economic Empowerment Seminars’. In Mardin, we provide safe care services for a total of 115 children in 6 children’s homes, 1 children’s home site, and specialized children’s home sites. The number of children we provide support for alongside their families through our ‘Social Economic Support Program’ is 2,560. Since 2012, we have allocated 308 million lira for our services. We have 11 Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations in our city that extend a helping hand to citizens in need. Since the beginning of 2024, with our social assistance, we have reached 99,000 households. The active participation of our disabled and elderly citizens in social life is also one of our important issues. For this reason, we are implementing special policies and significant projects for our disabled and elderly citizens.”
“We have allocated 2.7 billion lira since 2006”
Stating that they currently serve 35 disabled citizens at one care and rehabilitation center in Mardin, Minister Göktaş emphasized, “We place great importance on the care of disabled citizens being provided at home. So far, about 12,000 citizens in Mardin have benefited from ‘Home Care Assistance’. In this context, we have allocated 2.7 billion lira since 2006. As a ministry, we will continue to support our disabled, elderly, women, children, martyrs, and veterans in every aspect. On the occasion of our program today, I would like to share a new initiative we will be launching with the people of Mardin. We are planning to establish a children’s home site for the children under our protection in Mardin. In the coming period, we will bring a new living space to Mardin where our children will grow up in a family-like warmth.”
Minister Göktaş emphasized that they will continue to work for the peace and prosperity of every citizen, for Mardin, and for the country, saying, “Mardin is one of our ancient cities that warmly welcomes guests from all over the country and the world. We will continue to do our best alongside our esteemed governor and our deputies to protect the beauties of Mardin and add value to it. We will continue to serve Mardin with all our means and contribute to its future. We will sign many more beautiful projects for the development of our city in every field. We will do this hand in hand with the valuable people of Mardin, united in heart and spirit.”
