The textile factories and workshops established with the support given to entrepreneurs investing through the 6th region incentives implemented by the government have opened doors for thousands of young people in Muş. By evaluating the potential of the young population in Muş and benefiting from the support provided by the government, textile workshops and factories are preventing migration to larger cities. Through the “On-the-Job Training Program” implemented by the Muş Provincial Directorate of Labor and Employment Agency, thousands of young people have gained professions. A total of 29 individuals who successfully completed the 6-month guaranteed employment on-the-job training program signed with RGZ Textile Company were awarded certificates.
Muş Provincial Director of Labor and Employment Agency Mehmet Emin Taylan stated that the company is required to employ the 29 individuals for 18 months according to the agreement, and he emphasized that they are continuing their efforts to find solutions to the unemployment problem, saying, “We have been searching for solutions to the problem of unemployment, which is the biggest issue in our region for years. Our people cannot work comfortably in any job unless they have a profession. The biggest problem for employers is the lack of qualified personnel. As a provincial directorate, we are also opening vocational training courses and on-the-job training programs to end this lack of vocational skills. Last week, we provided an on-the-job training program for 59 people. Through these programs, we provide 6 or 9 months of salary and insurance support to our companies. When the program is completed, employers will employ these trainees. Today, we awarded certificates to 29 young people who successfully completed the on-the-job training program. Since the beginning of the year, 1,455 people have benefited from the program in our province. This service will continue until the end of the year,” he said.
Mustafa Benli, who provides employment for 160 people in his textile company established in Muş, said, “We are an İzmir company, and our headquarters is in İzmir. We established a textile company in Muş a year and a half ago. We provide employment for 160 people here. We produce suits. Our products are sent abroad. We work with 6 foreign companies. Today, we employed 29 people from the on-the-job training program. For six months, both their insurance and salaries were covered by the government. We have reached an agreement to employ 29 individuals. Thanks to these programs, we are employing qualified personnel in our organization.”
Esmer Ünsal, who stated that she gained a profession after the 6-month on-the-job training program, said, “I didn’t have a profession before. I got acquainted with the on-the-job training program. Thanks to this training program, I became employed in approximately 6 months. Now I also have a profession, and we, young people, are contributing to our families by working in our own province without going abroad.”
