High school student Bergüzar achieves great success

Bergüzar Yürüm, a 3rd-year high school student from Kayseri, achieved great success by winning a gold medal at the 4th European Girls Computer Olympiad held in Eindhoven, Netherlands, which was attended by 200 students from 50 countries.

Osman Ulubaş, the director of Kayseri Science High School, welcomed the successful student in his office and expressed his happiness. Karaköse stated, “We met with Bergüzar a year ago. At that time, she told us about her projects, studies, and dreams. We were proud that our student had an international dream and project even back then. She showed what a Turkish young person can achieve when they set their mind to it, and I supported her at that time as well. Bringing the gold medal from the Computer Olympiad held in the Netherlands to our country and province made us very happy. This is an exemplary success for our other students too. We have seen that there is nothing we cannot achieve when we desire and dream. As long as we believe in ourselves and put in the effort, we can see what we can accomplish.”

Yürüm also stated, “This year I was selected for the girls’ team by TÜBİTAK. I attended the summer and winter camps. At the Olympiad, we worked on 4 problems for 5 hours each, and I won the gold medal. I want to work at TÜBİTAK and support future students. I also want to make the best use of my education.”
