Samsun Metropolitan Municipality continues its renovation works on the damaged and deteriorated roads following heavy rainfall.
After the heavy rains that occurred on July 7, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality is working hard to remedy the damages experienced in the region, especially in the districts of Terme, Çarşamba, Salıpazarı, and Ayvacık. In this context, a total of 13 neighborhoods in important areas such as Kocaman-Uludere Group Road, Erenköy Neighborhood, and Ambartepe Neighborhood in Terme district have been worked on, and the roads have been safely opened to traffic. In Çarşamba district, most of the work related to opening 13 roads belonging to the municipal district has been completed, while ongoing work continues in 8 neighborhoods. In Salıpazarı district, the closed roads of 13 neighborhoods belonging to the municipal district have been opened, and work has reached the completion stage in 11 neighborhoods. In Ayvacık district, the effects of heavy rainfall have been observed in 43 neighborhoods after the flood, and the goal is to open the roads and ensure transportation in these areas.

Providing information about the ongoing works, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Halit Doğan stated, “We are always ready with all our teams and equipment against any negative situation that may arise in our city. We have meticulously completed our comprehensive works in many areas affected by heavy rainfall. Our teams worked diligently to eliminate cracked roads, water accumulations, and infrastructure problems. Now, we are working with great effort in many areas, such as safely opening the remaining roads to traffic, repairing water and sewer infrastructure, and addressing landslides and other adverse effects. The most important thing for us is to minimize the grievances of our citizens.”
