The Provincial Coordination Board meeting for the second period of 2024, where public investments carried out in Edirne this year were discussed, was held.
The second period meeting of the Provincial Coordination Board, discussing public investments, was held at the Devecihan Culture Center under the leadership of Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer. District governors, mayors, and representatives of institutions and organizations attended the meeting. In his speech, Governor Sezer stated, “According to the reports sent to our Governorship by our organizations, there are 305 projects in the investment programs of our public institutions for the year 2024 in our province. The total cost of these projects is approximately 48 billion TL. In previous years, 18 billion TL has been spent for these projects, and it is projected that 7 billion TL will be allocated in 2024. By the end of the second investment period, a spending of 2 billion 200 million TL has been achieved, resulting in a cash realization rate of 31%. When evaluated according to monitoring institutions, it is seen that 1 billion 970 million TL of the investment expenditures made in the second period of 2024 were carried out by our central administrative institutions. The cash realization level provided by these expenditures of our central administrative institutions is 29.75%. Our municipalities have made an investment expenditure of 231 million TL, achieving a cash realization of 58%.”
“68 out of 305 projects have been completed”
Governor Sezer continued, “As a result of these investment expenditures made by our central and local government institutions, by the end of the second period of 2024, 68 out of the 305 projects included in the programs of our public institutions have been completed, 171 are ongoing, and 66 are at the bidding and project stage. The distribution of implemented projects by district is as follows: 132 in the center, 55 in Keşan, 24 in Uzunköprü, 17 in Havsa, 13 in İpsala, 11 in Enez, 10 in Meriç, 7 in Süloğlu, and 7 in Lalapaşa, while 29 projects are being carried out in various districts. When evaluated sectorally, 104 of the projects are in agriculture, 71 in other public services (social-economic), 70 in education, 28 in transportation-communication, 15 in health, 7 in tourism, 7 in energy, and 3 in the mining sectors. By the end of the period, the highest expenditure occurred in the transportation-communication sector with 895 million TL, followed by agriculture with 597 million TL, other public services (social-economic) with 362 million TL, health with 167 million TL, education with 110 million TL, and tourism with 69 million TL.”
