The Yozgat Governor Mehmet Ali Özkan, who accompanied the marbles game of the Ankara Club Association’s seymen team, outperformed the seymen with his performance.

The 23rd International Sürmeli Festival, organized by the Yozgat Municipality this year, continues with various activities. Citizens show great interest in many events and concerts held in Cumhuriyet Square.

On the 3rd day of the festival, the performances of the Ankara Club Association’s seymen team stole the show. Not breaking the invitation to the marbles game of the seymen team, Yozgat Governor Mehmet Ali Özkan took to the stage. As he is also from Ankara, he skillfully adapted to the tunes he was familiar with, and Governor Özkan presented a performance that would outshine the seymen with his marbles game.

Governor Özkan’s marbles game was followed with great interest and appreciation by the citizens participating in the festival. Thanking those who contributed to the organization of the festival, Governor Özkan said, “I extend my gratitude to our Mayor, the staff who worked hard, and our fellow citizens who filled Cumhuriyet Square in Bozok Plateau. After the performances of the Ankara Club Association’s Seymen team, Ezginin Günlüğü took the stage and provided the people of Yozgat with an unforgettable evening. Meeting with their fans on stage, Ezginin Günlüğü took their listeners on a nostalgic journey with their melodies, transporting them to the past. In addition to unforgettable songs such as ‘Aşk Bitti’, ‘Kadıköy’, and ‘Ebruli’, the group members included important works such as ‘Leyla’ and ‘Gemi’ in their repertoire, receiving full marks from the people of Yozgat with their performances. Throughout the 2-hour concert, music lovers from Yozgat sang along to the songs in unison.

Expressing gratitude to the members of Ezginin Günlüğü for their contributions to the Sürmeli Festival, Yozgat Mayor Kazım Arslan stated, “We are very pleased to host this beautiful group, which has the longest-lasting, most stable, and never-changing line. We watched them live for the first time, and watching them live is much more beautiful. Hopefully, we would like to host them here in other programs as well.”

The Sürmeli Festival concluded with the performances of DJ Kıvoo.
