The Nevşehir Culture Road Festival is starting

The seventh stop of the Turkey Culture Road Festival, organized this year in 16 cities by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to contribute to Turkey’s international brand value, will be Nevşehir. This is the second time Nevşehir hosts the Turkey Culture Road Festival.

The seventh stop of the Turkey Culture Road Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to contribute to Turkey’s international brand value, will be Nevşehir this year.

Nevşehir, which will host the Turkey Culture Road Festival for the second time, will be filled with concerts, exhibitions, workshops, discussions, gastronomic experiences, and activities suitable for all ages from August 3 to August 11. Over the course of 9 days, more than 500 events will meet the public at nearly 40 locations.

Nevşehir will be lively with concerts
During the festival, concerts will be held all over the city, where locals and domestic and foreign tourists will have a great time. Popular artists such as Bengü, Buray, Dedublüman, Berkay, Fatma Turgut, Ferhat Göçer, Mazhar Alanson, Can Bonomo, and Haluk Levent will perform their most loved songs on the main stage set up at the Göreme Festival Area.
In the magnificent atmosphere of Paşabağları Valley, the State Polyphonic Choir will perform “Tango Buenos Aires” with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, the Antalya State Opera and Ballet will present the “Aspendos Ensemble,” Tuluyhan Uğurlu will perform “Güneş Ülke Anadolu,” “Songs and Folk Songs from Tongues to Hearts,” Serkan Çağrı & Tuluğ Tırpan Homeland Feat Mehmet Akatay&Mehmet Özen, “Canan Anderson Violin Show,” and the Ankara State Opera and Ballet will showcase “Summer Nights Songs,” along with performances by Dolapdere Big Gang and Anjelika Akbar, creating a musical feast along with a visual show.
At Hacı Bektaş Veli University, there will also be a concert by Orhan Hakalmaz and a performance of “Saye” by the Konya Turkish Sufi Music Group.

Exhibition areas all over the city
As part of the festival, Refik Anadol’s data sculpture “Machine Hallucinations: Coral Dreams,” which has achieved great success on international platforms, will be exhibited at the Meryem Ana Church, the digital art exhibition “Anatolia Edition” will be at the Cappadocia University Urgup Factory Campus, Sabri Berkel’s Painting Exhibition at the Güray Museum, Asaf Erdemli’s “A Legend at the Peak” exhibition at Mustafa Paşa Eleni Church, and the sculptures of Sultan Adler and Beste Alperat will be in the Paşabağları Valley. The exhibition “Geography is the Fate of Tradition: Avanos” will be displayed at the Chez Galip Workshop.

Interviews with famous names
Throughout the festival, important figures will share their memories in interviews. Actors such as Ercan Kesal, writers Beyhan Budak, Melih Tuğtağ, Ragıp Bayraktar, Veli Ay, Yusuf Özkan Özburun, Tarık Tufan, Yasin Temel, phenomenon Ömer Başdoğan, and journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy will come together with their fans in discussions on various topics. Comedian Gökhan Ünver will also entertain the audience with a stand-up show.

Art-filled Nevşehir: concerts, opera, ballet, and theater
The plays and performances staged by the State Theaters and the State Opera and Ballet, which have been sold out throughout the season, will also be part of the festival. The century-old epic plays “Fire,” “War,” “The Girl on the Train,” and “Majestic” will be staged at Hacı Bektaş Veli University Vali Şinasi Kuş Culture and Congress Center Damat İbrahim Pasha Stage, while the children’s play “Magical World” will be presented on the Open Air Stage of Avanos Amphitheater.

A moment of silence for the Palestinian struggle
As a tribute to the struggle of Palestine, a special selection will be presented during the Nevşehir Culture Road Festival. The exhibition featuring the character “Hanzala,” one of the symbols of the freedom struggle, by cartoonist Naci El Ali, known for his caricatures emphasizing the Palestinian cause, will be waiting for visitors in the Entrance Floor Exhibition Hall at Cappadocia University Urgup Factory Campus.

Traditional and contemporary art together
Awareness will be raised through workshops in different categories such as the Karagöz Hacivat Puppet Making Workshop, Traditional Handicrafts Workshop, Kitre Doll Workshop, Pottery Workshop, and Kitre Recycling Workshop.

A festival for children
With the “Children’s Village” set up in front of the Avanos Amphitheater, children will have fun with colorful activities, workshops, stage shows, theaters, playgrounds, and many more events. For nine days, stage shows of cartoon characters familiar to children from screens, fair tents, thematic playgrounds, as well as activities tents where art training in music, drama, dance, ballet, and painting will be offered, will be available in the children’s village throughout the festival.

Balloon festival
The Nevşehir Culture Road Festival will also host international balloon events during its last four days. From August 8 to 11, the excitement of the Balloon Festival will take place. Colorful balloons in various figures from 17 countries will create a visual feast in the skies of Cappadocia. The concert areas will also be illuminated with Night Glow events during the festival.

11 different gastronomy stops at the festival
In Nevşehir, which is also known for its gastronomic richness, 11 different points have been designated as ‘Festival Taste Stops.’ At the Nevşehir Culture Road Festival Taste Stops, local and foreign visitors will have the opportunity to experience and discover centuries-old flavors along with their stories and ingredients.
