President Yılmaz responds to the allegations regarding ‘POMEM’

Şehitkamil Mayor Umut Yılmaz stated that the claims regarding the closure of the Special Talent Exam Preparation Course do not reflect the truth. Yılmaz reacted to the baseless claims, saying, “Why would I close a course with a 100% success rate?”

The Special Talent Exam Preparation Course provided by Şehitkamil Municipality continues to prepare students for POMEM (Police Vocational Training Center), PMYO (Police Vocational School), BESYO (Faculty of Sports Sciences), SBF (Faculty of Sports Sciences), MSÜ (National Defense University), ASEM (Non-Commissioned Officer Training Center), SUEM (Officer Training Center), sports high school, and watchman exams.

Eight students, representing the 371 students who are trained in the course with a 100% success rate, visited Mayor Umut Yılmaz in his office to thank him for the opportunities provided. During the visit, the students expressed that they had heard rumors about the course being closed. Mayor Yılmaz made a clear statement regarding the rumors about the closure of the course and explained that such rumors are part of efforts to divide the community.

“We are not so heartless as to close this course”

Emphasizing that the rumors about the closure of the Special Talent Exam Preparation Course are absolutely unfounded, Mayor Yılmaz stressed that people should not believe such rumors. Yılmaz stated, “What problem could I possibly have with the youth and their future? There is something so beautiful and beneficial here. Instead of closing this course, we need to create more opportunities. We are not so heartless as to close this course. We are always by the side of our youth. Why would I close a course with a 100% success rate? This topic has never been discussed in any way. These seats are temporary places. What matters is that when you have a profession, you can say, ‘This person helped me with that.’ That is happiness,” he said.

“Do not believe anything you haven’t heard from us”

Calling on the public to come together and act as one against attempts to create division in society, Mayor Yılmaz stated that the municipality will always continue to stand by the citizens. Mayor Yılmaz said, “Please, do not believe anything you haven’t heard from us, ask us.”
