PANKOBIRLIK General President and Konya Beet Producers Cooperative Board Chairman Ramazan Erkoyuncu stated that this election broke a record in terms of participation, saying, “Both the high level of participation and the percentage of votes we received have increased our duties and responsibilities even further. Thank God, the Konya Sugar ship has weathered the storm and has safely docked.”
Ramazan Erkoyuncu, the General President of PANKOBIRLIK and Chairman of the Konya Beet Producers Cooperative Board, was warmly welcomed on the first working day after the election. As the employees applauded President Erkoyuncu, he expressed his gratitude for the support shown.
“Our duties and responsibilities have increased”
President Erkoyuncu emphasized the need to work harder in light of the support shown, stating, “This election broke a record in terms of participation. Of course, this pleased us. I hope the newly elected management will do good things on behalf of our institution. Hopefully, it will be beneficial for all of us. Both the high level of participation and the percentage of votes we received have increased our duties and responsibilities even further. From now on, our job will be more difficult. We will need to be more attentive and work harder. I believe we will do good things on behalf of our farmers, our employees, the public in Konya, and even for our country. We have shown our utmost effort, and our farmers have seen this in the 2 years and 9 months period. From now on, we will be more active. We will work with all our strength.”
“The Konya Sugar ship has weathered the storm and has safely docked”
Highlighting that they will undertake important projects in the new term, President Erkoyuncu emphasized that the capacities of existing factories will be rapidly increased. He noted that they will be active in projects aimed at developing agriculture in the country and the region, while also continuing bureaucratic discussions related to the water problem in the Konya Basin. President Erkoyuncu continued his statement by saying, “We will rapidly increase the capacities of our factories producing current food products, especially our sugar factory, frozen potato factory, and biscuit chocolate factories to meet the demand. In the Konya Sugar group, there is no longer a problem of profitability or access to finance. In the new term, we will quickly start making competitive modernization investments in all our facilities, large and small. Subsequently, we will be more integrated with agriculture, food, and livestock, and will take on a locomotive role in the development of agriculture in the country and the region. Thank God, the Konya Sugar ship has weathered the storm and has safely docked. In the upcoming period, it has gained the strength to carry new burdens for this country and for the producers.
“I will not betray the trust of our farmers”
President Erkoyuncu, stating that he is well aware of the problems and expectations of farmers, noted that he will continue to work for the welfare of farmers in the new term. He said, “Our farmers have given me their proxy, they trusted me. I will not betray their trust. They have seen this in the three-year period, but our job has now become even more difficult. I am a farmer myself. I know the problems and expectations of farmers very well. My management philosophy has three principles: We are open to everything that is lawful, fair, and logical. It must first be logical. We will stay away from sectors that are established just to create employment and then create unemployment. Our farmers can rest assured, they know that we will do our best in price policies and base prices. I promise I will do my best.”
