Murat Özgen, the General Coordinator of Antexpo AŞ, which organizes the Fruit, Vegetable and Products, Food and Food Technologies, Packaging, Logistics and Storage Fair (Interfresh Eurasia), stated that preparations for the fair are nearly complete, with purchasing delegations from nearly 60 countries and representatives of the largest chain stores from Europe, the Middle East, and Russia participating.
“The four types of fruits and vegetables will meet at the Izmir Fair”
Zer noted that the Interfresh Eurasia Fair, which will be held in Izmir for the first time this year after Antalya, offers an indispensable opportunity for all sector firms that want to gain a competitive advantage in the global market. Murat Özer stated:
“Fresh, dried, frozen, and canned products, as well as sauces and fruit juices, will be showcased on an international platform at the Izmir İzfaş Fair area from September 26 to 28. Our exporters will be able to display their products and establish direct contact with international buyers thanks to this fair. The Interfresh Eurasia Fair encompasses a wide geographical market extending from America to Central Asia, primarily due to Turkey’s strategic location in Europe.”
“Over 30 chain stores are participating”
Özer expressed that representatives from over 30 well-known chain stores operating in the European, Middle Eastern, and Russian markets will also participate in the Interfresh Eurasia Izmir Fair from nearly 60 countries, and continued:
“Our fair, which has been held in Antalya since 2018, will take place in Izmir for the first time this year from September 26 to 28, showcasing purchasing delegations from Europe, the Middle East, Russia, and Latin American countries. The fair will provide an international platform by bringing together the latest innovations and varieties in Turkey’s fruit and vegetable industry. Compared to last year, the Interfresh Eurasia Fair has grown by 200% and 98% of the fair area is already filled. Our exporters are bringing global buyers to Izmir to introduce themselves in the international arena, strengthen their position in the sector, and connect with new markets.”
“Turkey’s export project”
The Interfresh Eurasia Fair will not only showcase the four types of fruits and vegetables but will also bring together relevant university departments, public institutions, and companies involved in the components of the export chain, such as machinery technologies, food technologies, packaging, storage, logistics, customs consultancy, and certification firms under one roof. The fair will also be accompanied by global conferences that aim to address the sector’s problems through university and industry cooperation.
