The training of the ‘Cyber Homeland’ program of Development Agencies has been completed.
Ahiler, Western Mediterranean, Western Black Sea, Çukurova, Euphrates, Southern Aegean, Northern Anatolia, and Zafer Development Agency regions have completed training with approximately 750 students from 22 different universities in 18 provinces.
After approximately 180 hours of technical training in four different modules, a ‘Capture the Flag’ (CTF) exam was conducted simultaneously in 18 provinces on June 14, 2024, to identify students who would participate in the Bootcamp, which is the second component of the Cyber Homeland program. 350 students who successfully completed the exam were invited to the Cyber Homeland Bootcamp.
The Cyber Homeland program, coordinated by the General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, provides cybersecurity training to young people from all over Turkey, preparing them to become heroes of the future.
Since its inception in 2019, the program has achieved numerous national and international successes and contributed to the employment of approximately 200 students. Ahmet Şimşek, the General Director of Development Agencies, stated, “We completed the bootcamp event with 350 young people from 22 cities in Turkey. Our youth worked selflessly to protect our cyber homeland and achieved significant successes.”

Minister Kacır: “National technology is essential.”
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır participated in the closing ceremony via video and drew attention to the cyber attack threats worldwide. Minister Kacır emphasized that “It is not possible to feel safe without developing national technology products and services as alternatives to global giants,” highlighting the important role of youth in the national technology movement.
During the event, university students from all over Turkey made intense efforts to improve themselves in the field of cybersecurity. Computer Engineering student Yusuf Nas stated, “Thanks to the training I received in the Cyber Homeland program, I work as a cybersecurity specialist in a private company. The knowledge I gained by working day and night has helped me improve in this field.” Bartın University student Mikail Kocadağ expressed, “Cyber Homeland provides tremendous human resources for the cybersecurity sector in our country.”

During the closing ceremony, certificates of appreciation were awarded to cybersecurity firms that participated in the Cyber Homeland vision meetings. Additionally, a cooperation protocol was signed between Cyrops, the first entrepreneur of the Cyber Homeland Program, and STM. This collaboration is an important step that will enhance Turkey’s competence in the field of cybersecurity and contribute to the training of future cyber defenders.
After the intensive and technical training provided during the Cyber Homeland Bootcamp event, approximately 120 successful students will be employed as interns under the coordination of Turkey’s Cyber Security Cluster. The determination and hard work of these young people will further strengthen Turkey’s cybersecurity future. 68 students who participated in and succeeded in the Cyber Homeland Program organized in cooperation with Zafer Development Agency and universities in the TR33 Region also attended the Cyber Homeland Bootcamp event held in Antalya.
