A 47-year-old female entrepreneur living in Kırıkkale aims to transition to mass production and provide employment with the help of government support in her textile workshop.

Nuray Yücekaya (47), who started her tailoring career as an apprentice at the age of 17 in Kırıkkale, opened her own business about two years ago. Benefiting from the Traditional Entrepreneur Support Program of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB), Yücekaya plans to expand her workshop and transition to mass production. She produces table and bed covers, duvet sets, and various embroideries in her workshop, contributing to the household economy as well.

Nuray Yücekaya shared her passion for her profession and her goals with İhlas News Agency. Having been in tailoring since the age of 17, Yücekaya emphasized that she works with great love for her job.

Expressing her love for her work, Yücekaya stated, “Everything that is within the fabric is valuable to us. Giving life to the fabric is very precious for us. Touching the machine gives us entirely different feelings. I love my profession. Our profession can only be done if it is loved. If it is not loved, it is not done, it is not bearable. Sewing is like a love for us. I have been working since I was 17. I love my job, and I continue to work.”

Yücekaya noted that with government support, she has increased the number of machines in her workshop to six, saying, “We have reached this level with the support we received from KOSGEB, but I need to progress further and transition to mass production. We are continuing our efforts related to this. God willing, I really want to move to mass production and provide employment as well.”

Nuray Yücekaya expressed that her love and determination for the tailoring profession will play a significant role in achieving greater successes in the future.
