The mayor of Beyoğlu, İnan Güney, allocated the presidential residence located at the Kefken Youth Camp to newly married couples from Beyoğlu. The summer house, which was previously used as a vacation spot for the mayor and his family, will now be available for honeymooning couples.

Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney has allocated the Presidential residence located in Kefken Youth Camp for newlywed couples from Beyoğlu. The summer house, which was previously used as a summer retreat for the mayor and his family, will now serve as a place where newlywed couples who do not have the opportunity for a honeymoon can spend 5 nights and 6 days for free.
At the Kefken Youth Camp of Beyoğlu Municipality, which is located by the sea in Kocaeli, there are independent houses for accommodation of those coming for vacation and socializing. One of these houses is the Presidential residence allocated to the mayor and his family. The Presidential residence, which was previously designated for the Mayor, will now be allocated to newlywed couples.
Mayor Güney made the following statement regarding the matter: “From the first day I took office, we compiled an inventory of the municipality’s resources. Throughout our election campaign, we encountered many young couples who wanted to get married but postponed it due to financial constraints. Seeing that the residence in Kefken was designated as a summer house for the presidency, we decided to use it as support for couples getting married. Our fundamental principle is to share the opportunities, wealth, and beauty of Beyoğlu fairly and equally with everyone.”
Beyoğlu residency is required
For the application requirement, at least one of the couples must have a Beyoğlu residency, they must have gotten married after July 1, 2024, and they must be Turkish citizens. After pre-registrations are made at http://beyoglu.bel.tr/kefken-balayi-kayit/, the Social Assistance Affairs Directorate will evaluate the applications considering the social situation.
Transportation and meals will also be free
Beyoğlu Municipality’s Kefken Camp serves as a destination not only for students from middle schools, high schools, and universities but also for retirees, disabled individuals, and day visitors during this period. In the camp, where different groups are hosted each week, newlywed couples will have the opportunity to stay for 5 nights and 6 days. Transportation to Kefken camp and meals will also be provided for free.
