The start of the motodrag races was given by President Kocagöz

The start of the first leg of the Drag Championship included in the Turkey Motorcycle Federation’s (TMF) 2024 race calendar was given by Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz.

The motodrag races held in Kepez are ongoing. The event, which began yesterday with practice and qualifying rounds at the Kepez Drag Track, continues today with fierce competitions. Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz visited the Kepez Drag Track and shared in the excitement of speed enthusiasts. Greeting the speed lovers who were following the races with great curiosity, Mayor Kocagöz expressed his wishes for successful, fast, and safe driving by visiting the athletes.

A new drag track for Kepez
Mayor Kocagöz mentioned that 58 athletes participated in the races and expressed particular satisfaction that 3 of the racers are female athletes. He noted that the drag races were delayed due to the prison process. Emphasizing that the people of Kepez deserve the best of every service, Mayor Kocagöz pointed to the increasing residential areas around the drag area and stated, “God willing, we are looking for a more beautiful, larger drag area,” announcing the promise of a new drag track.

Safe driving with the drag track
Murat Kocagöz stated, “We wish that the passion for speed is expressed in such safe places rather than on the streets. We are expecting our youth here. These drag tracks are the places where they can showcase their passion for speed, for their own safety and the safety of others. I have also contributed to the construction of this drag track. Now it is our duty to enlarge this track and make it better.”

Striving for first place
The first leg of the Drag Championship included in the Turkey Motorcycle Federation’s (TMF) 2024 race calendar started with Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz waving the starting flag. The races are held in 10 different categories, namely super street, pro street, street 2, street 750, street 600, standard 1, standard 2, pro 200, pro 300, standard 300, and women’s class. Athletes will fiercely compete for the first place trophy throughout the day.

Kepez’s teams on duty
Kepez Municipality has taken the necessary precautions against any adversities and accidents for the motodrag races. In addition to the ambulance and health teams from Kepez Health Center, various units of the municipality and fire teams are also on standby at the track. This way, any emergencies that may occur during the races can be intervened immediately, ensuring the utmost safety for both the competitors and the spectators.
