This year’s 10th TEKNOFEST will take place at Adana Sakirpasa Airport between October 2-6. For the technology competitions of TEKNOFEST 2024, 1 million 630 thousand competitors and 788 thousand 161 teams have applied.

“More than 2 million visitors are expected”

Speaking to Ihlas News Agency, Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger said, “TEKNOFEST has become one of our values that has now branded itself globally. It is gaining an important place in the world in terms of technology festivals. There have been very high levels of participation so far. It was previously only held in Istanbul, but now it is being organized in other provinces as well. We will hold the first festival in the Mediterranean region in Adana. Our youth are very interested in this festival. This year, there are 1 million 600 thousand applications from competitors. We believe that we will have a record-attended festival with over 2 million visitors. We invite everyone to this festival,” he expressed.

“It will be a ‘lifeline’ for local businesses”

Governor Köşger expressed that TEKNOFEST will also be a ‘lifeline’ for the economy of Adana, and then added the following:

“Our local businesses provide very good services at festivals. The fact that Adana is accustomed to festivals also pleases the tradespeople. In the last festival, not only Adana but also hotels in Mersin and nearby provinces were fully booked. Given this situation, TEKNOFEST will be beneficial for our local businesses and will support them.”

“There are no daily security incidents even at festivals”

Explaining that Adana is now referred to as a ‘city of festivals’, Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger stated, “Adana is rapidly progressing towards becoming a city of festivals. There is a serious potential. Our citizens love festivals. Adana is one of the most important cities in terms of culture and art. It has been less than a year since I arrived, but very large festivals have been held. There were no daily security incidents even at those festivals. The Orange Blossom Carnival lasted for 9 days, and there were no issues. Our citizens who came from all over Turkey had a great time.”
