Spiritual Enthusiasm at the Haçkalı Baba Commemoration Program

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç participated in the 27th Traditional Hachkali Baba Commemoration Program, calling for the strengthening of unity among Muslims.

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç attended the 27th Traditional Hachkali Baba Commemoration Program, organized jointly by the Metropolitan Municipality, Duzkoy Municipality, and the Duzkoy Mufti’s Office. The program began with a Mehter concert and continued with a concert of Turkish Sufi Music. After various refreshments were offered to the participants, prayers were recited throughout the event. At the beginning of the ceremony, Mayor Genç expressed gratitude to former Trabzon mayors Asım Aykan and Orhan Fevzi Gümrükçüoğlu, as well as to the late former Duzkoy Mayor Mehmet Akkaya. He stated, “I pray for God’s mercy on those who contributed to this cause, including Mustafa Cumur, Mehmet Habipoğlu, and other benefactors. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to those who are still alive. We need to strengthen our unity and togetherness. As Turks, we need to take up the banner of Islam once again.”

“The earth is going through bad days”

In his speech, Mayor Genç also addressed the plight of Muslims today, saying, “Unfortunately, the earth is going through very bad days; oppressed Muslims are subjected to genocide by a great power. As a nation under the shadow of our flag, we must fulfill the responsibilities imposed on us by our faith and civilization. Gaza and the Islamic world are waiting for Turks to take up the banner again. May God grant us the opportunity to witness those days and bring peace and tranquility through Turks once again.”

Duzkoy Mayor Selim Çelenk remarked, “27 years ago, when I was the cultural director at Trabzon Municipality, we held the first program. Today, as the 27th Mayor of Duzkoy, I am happy to be here again for this program. We work to leave a mark in the hearts of people on this path of service. I thank my esteemed brothers who came here to remember the past and benefit from this spiritual atmosphere. May God enable us to organize these programs and continue our bond of unity.”
