In Burdur, the famous artist Safiye Soyman’s son, 52-year-old Harun Akaröz, who lost his life yesterday, was laid to rest in Bodrum, Muğla.
Safiye Soyman’s son Harun Akaröz, who had been battling MS (Multiple Sclerosis) for 25 years, passed away yesterday in Burdur. After worsening in the late hours of the night, Akaröz was taken to the hospital. He died in the hospital due to respiratory failure. The funeral of Harun Akaröz, who passed away in Burdur, was brought to the Gündoğan Central Mosque in Gündoğan neighborhood of Bodrum, Muğla. Safiye Soyman did not leave her son’s coffin for a moment. She welcomed relatives who came to the mosque with tears in her eyes, together with her life partner Faik Öztürk. The funeral ceremony was attended by Safiye Soyman, Faik Öztürk, the Soyman family and relatives, as well as many names from the business, art, and sports worlds, including presenter and singer Seren Serengil, presenter and actress Seray Sever, and presenter Ebru Akel. After the funeral prayer that followed the afternoon prayer, Akaröz was buried in the Gündoğan cemetery.

He slept with his pillow.
Faik Öztürk said, “May God not give it to anyone, it’s hard. He suffered a lot, fought a lot for 7 years. His life was spent in bed. It was a very difficult process. May God give Safiye a long life; she took care of him wonderfully and kept him alive wonderfully. While everyone was telling us he would live for 3 months or 5 months, Harun lived for 7 years. Therefore, may God make his resting place paradise. Our pain is great; only those who live it know. Last night at home, Safiye hugged Harun’s pillow and lay down. It is very hard for Safiye to get used to this; may God give her strength and power,” he expressed.
Safiye Soyman, on the other hand, stated, “May God not give anyone the pain of losing a child. My son has gone, I wouldn’t want a fly to land on him. I would have taken very good care of him; I came from a shoot, he was waiting for me. My child was waiting for me. I arrived, and he passed away a week later. I washed him with my own hands in the morgue. My child left with a smile.”
It was learned that Harun Akaröz, who lived in Bodrum, spent summers in the village of Yeşilbaşköy in the Ağlasun district of Burdur for about 3 years, as it was good for his condition.
