Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz: “Love has won in Kepez”

At the 3rd Traditional Osmankalfalar Plateau Festival held in Korkuteli District, Kepez Municipality Mayor Mesut Kocagöz stated, “We did something that has not been done in Kepez for 30 years. Love has won in Kepez.”
The Osmankalfalar Plateau Festival was held for the third time this year in Korkuteli District of Antalya. Kepez Municipality Mayor Mesut Kocagöz also shared in the excitement of the festival with the residents of Osmankalfalar. As he arrived at the festival area to applause, a scarf symbolizing the Yörüks was tied around Mayor Kocagöz’s neck. Speaking at the 3rd Traditional Osmankalfalar Plateau Festival, Mayor Kocagöz emphasized that the festival strengthens unity and solidarity. Reminding that many residents of Osmankalfalar live within the borders of Kepez, Mayor Kocagöz said, “We won the election thanks to you. We won together. We did something that has not been done in Kepez for 30 years. Love has won in Kepez.”

Love and Compassion in Hearts
Touching upon his prison experience, Mayor Kocagöz said, “Unexpectedly, bad things happened to us. Unfortunately, I had a two-month prison life. When I got out of prison, I saw this; I was once again proud to be a member of this nation. You are people who carry love and compassion in your hearts. I saw that sensitivity not just in Kepez, not just in Antalya, but all over Turkey. This nation cannot live in injustice, you said. I sincerely thank all of you. I am glad you are here.” During the Traditional Osmankalfalar Plateau Festival, the Science and Technology Truck and Health Truck of the Kepez Municipality served the citizens. The mobile service trucks, which received intense interest, were highly appreciated by the festival participants. In the event where the festival head is elected every year, Hasan Can Caran was once again chosen as the Festival Head of Osmankalfalar this year.
