Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç reacted to the members of the U.S. Congress who applauded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, responsible for the genocide in Palestine, during the award ceremony at the Keşkek Festival he attended in Bartın.
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç participated in the Keşkek Festival held in the Abdipaşa town of the Ulus district of Bartın. Speaking at the award ceremony of the keşkek competition held as part of the festival, Minister Tunç noted that the AK Party governments have elevated the standards of democracy over the past 22 years, stating, “We have made significant progress in terms of basic human rights in 22 years. We have raised the standards of our democracy. We have brought our country to a high-standard democracy. From now on, without deviating from the rule of law and justice, we will continue to advance the strength of basic human rights even further. You should have no doubt about this. We will continue to shape Turkey in the world with its assertive, fair, and balanced foreign policy.”
Response to U.S. Congress Members
Minister Tunç reacted to the members of the U.S. Congress who stood and applauded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is held responsible for the genocide in Palestine. Tunç said, “Unfortunately, a massacre, a genocide, continues in Gaza, Palestine. It is very difficult to even call a state that does not implement the ceasefire resolution of the United Nations Security Council a state. Those who applaud the Prime Minister of a country that has acted like a terrorist organization since October 7 with its genocide, the perpetrator of genocide, in the U.S. Congress have become a stain on the conscience of humanity and on world history. As Turkey, we will continue to advocate for justice, fairness, and human rights, support our Palestinian brothers, defend peace, and protect our national interests. We will continue our efforts to rid Turkey of all forms of terrorism and to achieve a peaceful future.”
Flood Threat
In his speech, Minister Tunç also reminded about the investments made in Bartın, such as schools, tunnels, viaducts, bridges, universities, infrastructure, superstructure works, sports facilities, organized industrial zones, factory constructions, hospital constructions, and public buildings. He also mentioned that they are working to prevent flood risk in the city. Tunç stated, “We have provided Bartın with four dams; we have tried to keep Bartın away from the threat of floods, thank God.”
