President Şerifoğulları stated, “The tender for 255 housing units will take place within a month.”

Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları, who stated that they received a promise from the minister regarding the construction of 255 housing units on the reserve area of the treasure land in the Karşıyaka Neighborhood, said, “TOKİ has quickly initiated its planning and project works. God willing, the tender for the 255 housing units will take place in about a month, and construction will begin soon.”

Elazığ Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları continues his neighborhood visits within the framework of the ‘Management Together’ principle. Mayor Şerifoğulları performed Friday prayers at the Haylani Kebir Mosque in the Kızılay Neighborhood. Before and after the Friday prayers, Mayor Şerifoğulları chatted with citizens and listened to their requests. After visiting the Kızılay Neighborhood, Mayor Şerifoğulları made important statements regarding the urban transformation works to be carried out in the Karşıyaka Neighborhood.

Expressing that they continue their efforts to solve the problems of the Karşıyaka Neighborhood, Mayor Şerifoğulları said, “Since the day we took office in 2019, we have been working diligently to provide more services to our neighborhoods that have not received services and to contribute to the development of our neighborhoods. We have discussed with TOKİ and formalized the area known as the İskan Houses in Karşıyaka Neighborhood, and after the 2020 earthquake, we delivered 455 housing units, built after the demolition, to the rightful owners along with commercial areas. The earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, also caused significant damage in Karşıyaka Neighborhood. In order not to lose the neighborhood culture of Karşıyaka and to ensure that our residents can stay in their own neighborhood, we received a promise from our Minister regarding the construction of 255 housing units on the reserve area of the treasure land in Karşıyaka Neighborhood as a result of our discussions with the Ministry. TOKİ has quickly initiated its planning and project works. God willing, the tender for 255 housing units will take place in about a month, and construction will start. With the completion of the 255 housing units, the rightful owners in Karşıyaka with severely damaged buildings will not have to relocate to other neighborhoods; they will receive their housing in their own neighborhood. Thus, it will also contribute to the development of the neighborhood,” he said.

Recalling that the Karşıyaka Neighborhood was declared an urban transformation area in 2013, Şerifoğulları stated, “In order to facilitate rapid transformation in Karşıyaka Neighborhood, we will remove the Karşıyaka Neighborhood from the urban transformation area and turn it into a zoned area at the September Council meeting, and we will continue our efforts to open the way for construction with the necessary height and zoning regulations. Our citizens in Karşıyaka Neighborhood have issues regarding natural gas. We will also fulfill our responsibilities quickly as a municipality to solve this issue and will start discussions with Aksa to bring natural gas here. We will continue our diligent efforts for the development of every neighborhood in our city.”
