Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality has added 23 new buses to its fleet: They will start service in September

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar announced that they have added 22 new buses, including one electric, and 1 minibus to the public transportation fleet. Alemdar stated, “The new generation, environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art buses we are adding to our fleet will start providing service as of September. Best wishes,” he said. Alemdar also shared visuals of the buses, which are 12 meters long and have a capacity of 102 people.

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar announced the good news regarding the vehicles to be included in the bus fleet. Recently announcing that they would renew the vehicle fleet, Mayor Alemdar stated that they have added 22 new buses and 1 minibus to the Metropolitan’s vehicle fleet, including one electric bus. Alemdar indicated that the latest model, new generation, and eco-friendly buses will start providing service in September, saying, ‘Best wishes.’

During a meeting today at AKOM with officials from a company producing in the automotive and defense industry, Mayor Alemdar expressed that they will continue to take steps to strengthen the city’s transportation infrastructure and stated that they have made the necessary agreement regarding the purchase of the buses. In the meeting, the company’s General Manager Aykut Özener, Deputy General Manager Hüseyin Odabaş, Domestic Bus Sales and Marketing Director Murat Tokatlı, Domestic Bus Sales Manager Murat Torun, Metropolitan Special Secretary Murat Yıldırım, and Transportation Department Head İlhan Yılmaz were present.

Mayor Yusuf Alemdar said, “We are renewing our transportation fleet with state-of-the-art and environmentally friendly vehicles. We are rapidly incorporating new, eco-friendly vehicles to replace those that do not meet the needs. In this regard, we have held meetings with Otokar, a company that has been producing in the automotive and defense industry in our city for many years. As a result of our discussions with the company, we are including 22 new buses and 1 minibus in our fleet, including one electric bus. God willing, we will start seeing the new buses on our city’s roads in September. Best wishes for our city,” he stated.

Sharing details about the new eco-friendly buses, Mayor Alemdar said, “The new buses we will add to our fleet will be 12 meters long and can carry a total of 102 passengers. With their modern appearance both inside and outside, and their spacious interiors, they will provide our citizens with quality and safe transportation services. The 100% electric bus that will join our vehicle fleet will have a capacity of 74 passengers.”

Mayor Alemdar expressed his happiness in implementing another project among his election promises, stating, “I am very pleased to share this happiness with our citizens. We had stated that we would renew our public transportation fleet before the elections. Thank God, we have achieved results in a short time. In addition to the discounts for students, we will also have our new fleets in service before the education period starts. I must also express that our good news and investments in transportation will continue.”
