Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir visited the parks of Nilüfer. Observing the needs in existing parks on-site and giving instructions for improvements, Mayor Özdemir also examined new park areas to be built in Nilüfer.
Continuing its efforts to increase green spaces, Nilüfer Municipality is also identifying the needs for the improvement of existing parks. Mayor Şadi Özdemir, along with Deputy Mayor Zerrin Güleş and municipal staff, toured parks and gardens for inspections. Observing the projects and works related to new parks to be added to Nilüfer, Mayor Şadi Özdemir issued instructions to the relevant units regarding the deficiencies in the parks that require revision after heavy use.
Improvements will be made.
After a day-long work, Mayor Şadi Özdemir made evaluations, stating, “We have a total of 410 parks in Nilüfer. We are planning what we can do here and how we can make it easier for our people to use these spaces. There are parks that need maintenance. We will work to make walking paths and children’s playgrounds even more beautiful. We will quickly identify deficiencies and make our improvements.”
Reminding that among their projects are earthquake parks, Mayor Şadi Özdemir emphasized that they plan to create safe and sustainable areas during an earthquake.
He also highlighted their desire to increase the number of areas where the people of Nilüfer can breathe, saying, “We have made our plans to increase the number of our green spaces. We are identifying areas where parks are planned to be built. We will bring new park areas to Nilüfer. We have a list of 21 parks that need to be prioritized. We will soon tender some parks. We will prioritize the neighborhoods that have the greatest need for parks: 30 August Victory, Balkan, and Kızılcıklı neighborhoods.”
Mayor Şadi Özdemir announced that they would make Nilüfer’s parks a meeting point for the public, stating, “We will ensure that our citizens enjoy Nilüfer’s parks more. We are especially working so that they can comfortably spend time there in the evenings.”
After inspecting the parks, Mayor Şadi Özdemir also visited the Urban Gardens in Ürünlü. He chatted with the workers there and received information about the ongoing works.
