Niğde Mayor Emrah Özdemir, in a statement made due to the announcement of the 2024-YKS results and the start of the preference process, invited candidate students to enroll at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University.

Mayor Özdemir emphasized that Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, since its establishment in 1992, has been a continuously developing university that renews itself every year, and in recent years, it has also attracted attention with its academic achievements as a center of science.

No Dormitory Problem in Niğde

Mayor Emrah Özdemir pointed out that the number of dormitories of the Credit and Dormitories Institution in Niğde is higher than in many other provinces, and Niğde is among the provinces with the highest dormitory capacity relative to its population. He stated, “No student who chooses Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University is left without accommodation regarding dormitories. Almost all students who preferred to stay in KYK dormitories last year and in previous years were placed in dormitories.”

Emphasizing that Niğde, a city where civilizations are preserved, is also a peaceful city, Mayor Emrah Özdemir said, “As Niğde Municipality, we mobilize all our resources to ensure that the young people who want to complete their higher education in Niğde have a fulfilling university life. In the upcoming period, our projects and investments aimed at young people, as well as our social, cultural, and sporting events, will continue to increase. In our city, where we have provided 4 new-generation libraries to our youth in the last 4 years, we are also increasing the number of sports facilities every year. Our efforts continue to make Niğde a university city through our concerts, festivals, theater performances, and other events.”

Mayor Özdemir emphasized that young people coming from other cities for university education will not feel foreign in Niğde, stating, “We are also very happy that the young people who complete their university education and return to their hometowns are telling about the historical, touristic, and natural beauties of this ancient city as ‘Honorary Niğdeli’ wherever they go.”

Wishing success to the youth in their higher education lives, Mayor Özdemir reiterated his call for students who will make their preferences to place Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University at the top of their preference list.
