President Büyükkılıç inspected the construction of the Provincial Public Library

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç inspected the construction of the Provincial Public Library, which has a construction area of 7,500 square meters and is being built in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism within the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Garden.

Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç stated that while continuing to equip Kayseri, a city of readers and educators, with libraries, the construction of the Provincial Public Library, which is located in one of Turkey’s largest national gardens, is nearing completion.

Intensive Work Continues in the Library

In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Metropolitan Municipality is preparing to launch another library project that befits the city of Kayseri, known for its libraries. In this context, Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç inspected the construction of the gigantic Provincial Public Library, which is specifically designed to include common meeting areas outside the classic library concept, on an area of 7,500 square meters within the 1,260,000 square meter Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Garden.

During the technical tour, Mayor Büyükkılıç was accompanied by Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Hüseyin Beyhan, Deputy Secretaries General Hamdi Elcuman and Ali Hasdal, and the Head of the Department of Studies and Projects Ahmet Şeref Bahçecioğlu.

Receiving information from the contractor firms about the current status, Büyükkılıç also toured the interior of the massive library, which is under intense construction, conducting inspections.

In a statement made here, Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç noted that the construction of the Provincial Public Library within the national garden, one of the most important projects, is ongoing, and they will also relocate the Public Library located next to the Seyyid Burhaneddin Hazretleri Tomb to this new facility.

Emphasizing that the new library will provide opportunities for both enrichment and visual arrangement, President Büyükkılıç continued his remarks as follows:

“It is a significant center that includes 7,500 square meters of construction area on 3 floors, with library facilities that will appeal to every age group: children, adults, and the elderly; where hundreds of thousands of books will meet, and where the digital environment will be implemented at the highest level. It will also provide an environment suitable for events such as a cinema hall and conference hall, where conferences can be held. It will be one of the most important libraries in Kayseri and perhaps in Anatolia. May it be beneficial for our city.”

“A Work Like a Necklace”

Büyükkılıç described the library in the national garden as a work that overlooks Mount Erciyes and is like a necklace located within the national garden, saying, “I especially thank the contractor company that meticulously carried out this work. Additionally, I would like to thank our esteemed Minister of Culture and Tourism and his team for providing the necessary support regarding the design of the interior and book procurement by discussing this project with our Ministry of Culture. It is a work that overlooks both Erciyes and is within the national garden, like a necklace. The colors are also very pleasant, featuring different shades. It is vibrant and sparkling.
