Mürüvvet Başdeğirmen Family Health Center was opened with prayers

The Family Health Center named after Mürüvvet Başdeğirmen, built by Isparta Mayor Şükrü Başdeğirmen and his family, has been opened for the common use of six neighborhoods in Isparta’s Kurtuluş neighborhood.

The Family Health Center, which bears the name of Mürüvvet Başdeğirmen, the daughter of Mayor Şükrü Başdeğirmen who is currently receiving treatment in the hospital following an unfortunate accident on May 13, 2023, is constructed as a two-story building. The Family Health Center includes consultation and waiting areas, 4 physician examination rooms, an emergency intervention room, a laboratory for blood draws, a maternity monitoring room, a baby monitoring room, and breastfeeding rooms. The building also features separate restrooms for staff and patients, as well as a kitchen area.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a telegram congratulating the Başdeğirmen family for the newly established health center and conveyed his wishes for a speedy recovery to Mürüvvet Başdeğirmen.

After the recitation of the Quran, Isparta Mayor Şükrü Başdeğirmen addressed the audience, stating that the newly established family health center will serve six neighborhoods in the region. Mayor Başdeğirmen said, “Today, with God’s permission, our health center, which we named after our daughter, is becoming operational. We are currently in the Kurtuluş neighborhood. Together with this neighborhood, our health center will serve the Çelebiler, Turan, Keçeci, Emre, and Sülübey neighborhoods. We lived in this neighborhood for a long time, and our family health center is here. We receive services from here. However, we have seen that the old building has become unusable. It was built a long time ago, has aged with use, and as our doctors stated, the basement level had a musty smell that made it difficult to admit patients. To renew this place, my wife Şadiye, my son Celal, and I decided to establish such a charitable institution in the name of our ailing daughter Mürüvvet, and we made it usable within 4-4.5 months. May God accept this act of worship we have done. Our daughter Mürüvvet has unfortunately not opened her eyes since she entered the 15th month. I believe that having our daughter’s name here is also very valuable to remember the health and love-filled life she taught us. ”

In their emotional speech, Isparta Mayor Şükrü Başdeğirmen and his wife Şadiye Başdeğirmen requested prayers for their daughter and all patients, wishing that the family health center bearing their daughter’s name would be beneficial. Before cutting the ribbon, the Başdeğirmen family mentioned that July 24 is their daughter’s birthday and cut the surprise birthday cake prepared for their daughter as a family.

Isparta Governor Aydın Baruş also conveyed his wishes for the family health center to be beneficial. Governor Baruş stated, “We are experiencing the happiness of being at the opening of a beautiful work that we wish to be beneficial for our province and we certainly hope it will be so, but on the other hand, we are feeling a sadness. Because our beloved Mürüvvet Başdeğirmen, whom we named the family health center after, has been in intensive care since May of last year, as you all know. Our primary wish is for our daughter to recover as soon as possible, together with all of your prayers. May God show a way out and return her to her family in good health. But our constant prayer is this: People live as long as their names are mentioned in a positive way. We hope that the name of our Mürüvvet Başdeğirmen will always live on in Isparta thanks to this work. We thank our Mayor of Isparta and his valuable wife for providing such a work for our Kurtuluş neighborhood and the six neighborhoods. This is a very beneficial service, a charity that is praised in the hadiths of our Prophet. May God be pleased with the Başdeğirmen family who have left this charity, may He accept their good deeds, and may He grant health and wellness to you, valuable people of Isparta. Thank you all for coming here. The intense interest shown by our people expresses how much our beloved Mürüvvet Başdeğirmen is loved. Let us all pray together, and may we be a means for good. ”

Provincial Health Director Mustafa Serhat Küçükcoşkun and Kurtuluş Neighborhood Muhtar Sıtkı Ağlarcı presented a plaque of appreciation to Mayor Şükrü Başdeğirmen for the health center established.

Then, all protocol members who attended the opening cut the ribbon of the Kurtuluş Neighborhood Mürüvvet Başdeğirmen Family Health Center with a prayer led by Provincial Mufti Muharrem Biçer.

The opening ceremony was attended by Governor Aydın Baruş, Mayor Şükrü Başdeğirmen, his wife Şadiye Başdeğirmen, and son Celal Başdeğirmen, as well as Fatin Rüştü Karakaş, President of the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), Isparta Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Cengiz Koçak, Isparta Provincial Gendarmerie Commander İlker Şimşek, Isparta Provincial Mufti Muharrem Biçer, Isparta Provincial Health Director Mustafa Serhat Küçükcoşkun, Süleyman Demirel University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Saltan, ISUBÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Çatal, Provincial General Assembly President Mehmet Ali Ertuğrul, provincial protocol, representatives of political parties, business and professional chambers, civil society organizations, and many citizens.
