The “Free Soil Analysis” implemented by the İnegöl Municipality to support farmers continues this year as well. The application, which has also attracted significant interest from producers, has so far conducted analyses of 600 samples.

In order to provide correct production for İnegöl farmers, who grow in the fertile lands of İnegöl and supply fruit shipments to various parts of the world, the İnegöl Municipality has been tirelessly supporting them to increase the city’s values. In 2021, the municipality initiated a model project aimed at reducing farmers’ input costs, ensuring more qualified production, and promoting more conscious use of fertilizers by partnering with a laboratory that offers free soil analysis to all willing farmers. Since the implementation began, it has received considerable interest from producers. İnegöl Municipality has prepared special bags for collecting soil samples, which are delivered to citizens through the organization of local muhtars (village heads). The samples are collected using these bags and sent to the laboratory. Soil analyses are gathered at İnegöl Municipality and are conducted at the contracted Soil Analysis Laboratory without any charge to farmers at regular intervals.

The aim of the free soil analysis application, supported by İnegöl Municipality, is to ensure that production is done correctly in the right place. In this application, which started in 2021 and continues to this day, the analyses of 600 samples have been conducted in laboratories. The analysis results are shared with farmers, providing information for more accurate agricultural methods.

Continuing this year

İnegöl Mayor Alper Taban provided information about the application while continuing to support İnegöl citizens in every area. Mayor Alper Taban stated, “As İnegöl Municipality, we are always by our farmers’ side. We continue our free soil analysis application to direct our producers to the right product and measure the value of the soil with technological investments. Samples brought to our Muhtarlık İşleri Müdürlüğü (Muhtarlık Affairs Directorate) located in the Cerrah Additional Service Building are sent to the laboratory for analysis by collecting producer and field-garden information. Each producer can bring as many samples as they wish; there is no limitation or restriction. It is sufficient for our producers to bring the title deed information belonging to the field-garden of the sample when they come. The analyses will be conducted free of charge by our municipality for İnegöl producers.”

Mayor Taban also warned farmers regarding the samples submitted, saying, “Unfortunately, very few samples cannot be processed. Or samples that are too many do not make sense for us. It is sufficient for our producers to bring samples of about 1-2 kg.”
