The Quality Coordination of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ) announced the results of regular surveys conducted regarding the satisfaction with the +1 Education Model implemented in all units of the university. The survey revealed that employers, students, and faculty members are highly satisfied with the model.

The Quality Coordination of SUBÜ published the results of satisfaction surveys conducted in the Spring Semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year regarding the +1 Education Model developed and implemented at all educational levels. The survey measured the satisfaction of employers, students, and faculty regarding the 3+1 education model for associate degree level and the 7+1 education model for bachelor’s degree level. It was determined that the relevant stakeholders have a high satisfaction rate with the model. With SUBÜ’s +1 Education Model, students from all departments at every educational level spend at least one semester working full-time in the business world.

A total of 536 employers participated in the survey conducted for the 3+1 education model, with 35% from the production sector, 45% from the service sector, and 10% from the public sector. Among the participants, 55% were from Sakarya, 19% from Istanbul, 10% from Kocaeli, and 16% from other cities. As a result of the 16 questions asked, the employers’ satisfaction level with the 3+1 education model was measured at 88%. For the 7+1 education model, a survey was conducted with 196 employers, 50% from the production sector, 38% from the service sector, and 2% from the public sector. Among these employers, 36% were from Sakarya, 31% from Istanbul, 14% from Kocaeli, and 19% from other provinces, with their satisfaction level for the 7+1 education model measured at 87%.

They are gaining skills

A total of 723 associate degree students participated in the survey conducted to measure the satisfaction of students with the 3+1 education model. The satisfaction rate of students was measured at 89% based on 19 questions. For the 7+1 education model, 282 students participated in the survey. The satisfaction rates of bachelor’s degree students who answered 19 questions regarding the 7+1 model were measured at 88% for the Faculty of Applied Sciences, 90% for the Faculty of Technology, and 95% for the Faculty of Tourism. 90% of associate degree students and 89% of bachelor’s degree students expressed satisfaction with the questions posed regarding the +1 Education Model.

Academicians are monitoring

A total of 94 academicians participated in the survey conducted to measure the satisfaction of faculty members with the 3+1 education model, of which 33% were female and 67% were male. Based on the answers given by the academicians to 14 questions, their satisfaction level with the model was measured at 90%. A total of 25 academicians participated in the survey conducted to measure satisfaction with the 7+1 education model, with their satisfaction measured at 88%. The satisfaction rates of academicians regarding their communication with the workplace application responsible were approximately 91% for the 3+1 education model and 89% for the 7+1 Education Model.
